  • Solid, reliable rural home Internet for when nothing else is available.
Excellent 5G router. It has lots of features and is fairly easy to configure. AT commands are manual. None of the Cudy Routers seem to be able to change IMEI on the second sim slot, but sim 1 can be changed so your wireless carrier recognizes it as a phone. It can be upgraded with MIMO antennas if you need better signal. Connection is stable and reliable when stationary. I am having some trouble connecting to Verizon, but AT&T connects easily. ... show more

  • No Wifi as WAN (WISP)
I was upgrading from the 4G (LT18) version that could use Wifi as WLAN. This 5G (P5) version does not have that capability. You are trading the ability to have 5G speed and against the Wifi as WLAN (WISP in Cudy speak). Seems an odd omission and is pretty frustrating.

  • Are you using AT&T Air Internet service? Don't make the mistake I did
I'm sure this device works fine but I bought this so I could use it for its external antenna capability. So I went to the AT&T store and they told me "we can only set this up as a separate hotspot to be able to give you a SIM for it." "We cannot give you a physical SIM on your Post paid AT&T Air account." So that would be an additional $70.00 /month on top of my existing AT&T air rate. I have read you can remove the physical SIM from the AT&T provided 5G modems as I have, but that voids its warranty and AT&T might detect the IMEI change anyway. So not worth even trying for me. So despite this device's nomenclature stating it supports all the major carrier networks I can't use it. So it's going back. ... show more

  • what's up with the antenna efficacy?
This is a really nice router with lots of great features for those inclined to tinker with stuff. I bought it because I moved recently and I have T-Mobile Wireless Internet Service. It worked GREAT at my old address with the issued modem/router. But, my new address is serviced by a tower (nearest) that has several transmitters out on it and has been under "maintenance" for several months. I was looking for a modem/router that would band-lock so I could stay on the antenna that supported Band 41. My old router would automatically choose the antenna and band that gave the best signal, but maybe not the best speed. While this modem/router allowed me to lock on Band 41 at the tower that I needed it to lock on, the antenna array is actually worse than the internal antenna of the T-Mobile issued device and I could not come within half the download speed with this. Sent it back ... show more

  • Works perfectly with Visible (Verizon)
This was extremely easy to set up I just put in my SIM card and set the passwords. Boom! Everything worked as it should with visible which is the prepaid division of Verizon wireless. I would also have to say that the range far exceeded my expectations. I'm thinking about getting this for another one of my properties because the coverage is so good. ... show more
