This 12" LED boat stern light is good quality, lightweight and bright. It is designed with 12 volts and 5 watts of power, so it will pair up great with any small marine grade 12 volt battery. I will be connecting it to a 12 volt 22AH lithium deep cycle marine battery on my Pelican Bass Raider boat. It folds down which is perfect for when you have a boat cover installed by way of large knob near the base. This light is waterproof with an IP67 rating and has an aluminum pole and either ABS or plastic base & bulb holder with a durable acrylic lens cover. There is 9.5" of wire already installed at the base of the light and extra wire and installation screws are included. I cannot tell if the screws are stainless steel or not, but they need to be for use around water. This 12" LED light is perfect for use on my small bass boat and looks great. Here in Colorado all motorboats must have a stern light as one of the requirements for your watercraft, especially if doing night fishing on the boat. It is available in a shorter and longer length depending on what size you prefer for your boat. Based upon the quality, features and low cost of this product I recommend it to all other boat owners. ... show more

I don't own a Jon boat, but rather a larger 23 foot fishing vessel with a hard top. The anchor light sits atop the hard top and the old one was a dim, old school bulb that I always feared was not seen well in the dark or fog.
