The media could not be loaded. *edit* Crownful reached out to me after they saw my review and offered me a free replacement or a full refund for my order since It's still under 1 year warranty. I would've felt bad taking a refund tbh, and I didn't want another one because I'm already using a different brand in my room now. I was going to ignore them but they emailed me like 4 times so I accepted the full refund since it seemed like they really wanted to address the dissatisfaction with their product reflected by the bad review. They processed the refund through amazon the next morning after I emailed them back to accept the refund. They really honor their 1 year warranty and the warranty process wasn't a headache to deal with at all. This ice maker was $165 when I bought it last summer, $180 after tax, but looks like the price has dropped wayyyyy down. At $100, I think it's a good ice maker tbh. I ended up putting this one in the kitchen since the rest of the house was still making ice in ice trays in the freezer. The grinding noise comes and goes; jus goes away then comes back then goes away again. I have no clue what causes it but it's ok in the kitchen where the noise doesn't bother anyone. *original review* I purchased mine back in July and keep it in my room. It was working fine for a few months then in January, it started making this loud grinding noise. It was very loud and started in the early morning, which woke me up to turn off the machine quickly before anyone else woke up. It wouldn't turn off immediately with the button so I unplugged it in a panic. I contacted them through FB messenger and they told me to email them so I emailed them. They never responded to my email. The noise stopped so I never followed up but it just started again. I'm not even going to try to go through the headache of a warranty claim even though I registered for their 1 year warranty extension. Just going to try a different brand instead

I've never owned an ice maker before I bought this one so I don't have any points of comparison to similar machines but having used it extensively at this point, here's my take... Firstly, this item is not returnable to Amazon. This fact may be on the product page but I purchased a bit hastily and I missed it. The only reason I wanted to return it was the slowness of ice production I experienced in the first use. I live in a trailer and need more items kept cold than my tiny fridge can accommodate. When I received the ice maker it was triple-digit hot here. I assumed it would use a lot of power so I had it plugged in to a hundred-foot extension cord running to the main house. Took about 12 minutes for the first ice batch and about 11 minutes for every one after. No way was that efficient enough to get beverages chilling even in a small ice chest, so I drained it cleaned it and attempted to return it, which obviously didn't pan out for me. I considered selling it but the idea of having my own ice maker really appeals to me and I gave it another go... I eliminated the extension cord, plugged it into the trailer and realized it's way more efficient than I have it credit for; uses much less power than my tiny fridge and produces cubes in as little as five minutes when it's cooler out and 8 minutes tops on the hottest days. It's no speed demon, it's most useful when I buy a bag of ice and use the machine to maintain the ice supply. The thing gets warm in a small area so I use a fan to draw the heat away which increases efficiency of production. I sometimes use it expressly for cocktails, takes 3-4 cycles of cubes to fill a glass, again not a super fast but a cool product to have around.

I like this unit. It's small and does its job. I will say that I cannot serve many drinks in succession due to the low volume of ice it can hold. The ice maker will produce ice in the specified time and run till it is full so emptying it out on the first round of cocktails isn't a huge issue as long as you are not serving more than 2 or 3 people. I have not had any issues with running out of ice, but I have run low a few times. Also since this unit is not cooled internally if the ice is left to sit it will melt back into the reservoir and be made into another round of ice. filling and cleaning are easy. The noise level is a bit annoying, but the TV in my bar usually drowns out the sound well enough. Update: The fan burnt out. Not the unit's fault. I set my house to 55 degrees when I am away. One day I came home and noticed the fan was making some noise. Same thing happens with my power inverter in my car. I let the house heat up and the noise went away. About a month and a half later I noticed the machine was no longer making ice. Checked out the fan and sure enough it was toast. I ordered a new machine and I am going to replace the fan in this one. I like to have a back up. Point of the update, if you are like me and set you home to a low temp when away, turn off the ice machine and don't kick it back on until the house is warmed up again.

I bought this product for my apartment so I don’t have to mess with ice cube trays. It appeared to look nice, and be high quality. I received it and it feels very durable, very easy to use, and very quiet and fast. The description of this product is spot on. It takes around 8-10 minutes per batch of ice so it keeps up with the demand. The only bad thing I have to say about this product is that it doesn’t keep ice, maybe in cooler rooms it will. But on hot days in the apartment it slowly melts, which is no problem because it just recirculates the water from the melting ice to make fresh ice cubes, and I got a ice box to put the ice from it in the freezer to keep cold and keep a stockpile. Works amazing! Great product so far.
