The media could not be loaded. *edit* Crownful reached out to me after they saw my review and offered me a free replacement or a full refund for my order since It's still under 1 year warranty. I would've felt bad taking a refund tbh, and I didn't want another one because I'm already using a different brand in my room now. I was going to ignore them but they emailed me like 4 times so I accepted the full refund since it seemed like they really wanted to address the dissatisfaction with their product reflected by the bad review. They processed the refund through amazon the next morning after I emailed them back to accept the refund. They really honor their 1 year warranty and the warranty process wasn't a headache to deal with at all. This ice maker was $165 when I bought it last summer, $180 after tax, but looks like the price has dropped wayyyyy down. At $100, I think it's a good ice maker tbh. I ended up putting this one in the kitchen since the rest of the house was still making ice in ice trays in the freezer. The grinding noise comes and goes; jus goes away then comes back then goes away again. I have no clue what causes it but it's ok in the kitchen where the noise doesn't bother anyone. *original review* I purchased mine back in July and keep it in my room. It was working fine for a few months then in January, it started making this loud grinding noise. It was very loud and started in the early morning, which woke me up to turn off the machine quickly before anyone else woke up. It wouldn't turn off immediately with the button so I unplugged it in a panic. I contacted them through FB messenger and they told me to email them so I emailed them. They never responded to my email. The noise stopped so I never followed up but it just started again. I'm not even going to try to go through the headache of a warranty claim even though I registered for their 1 year warranty extension. Just going to try a different brand instead

It does the job of making ice! Owned for at least a year and no technical issues. THE GOOD: no rusting of the ice making tines, even after cleaning with distilled white vinegar and descale solutions; has a cleaning setting; compact size, is a little smaller than most ice makers. THE BAD: loud motor when making ice, louder than most find comfortable; smaller water tank and makes less ice in one full tank than previous ice maker.

I like this unit. It's small and does its job. I will say that I cannot serve many drinks in succession due to the low volume of ice it can hold. The ice maker will produce ice in the specified time and run till it is full so emptying it out on the first round of cocktails isn't a huge issue as long as you are not serving more than 2 or 3 people. I have not had any issues with running out of ice, but I have run low a few times. Also since this unit is not cooled internally if the ice is left to sit it will melt back into the reservoir and be made into another round of ice. filling and cleaning are easy. The noise level is a bit annoying, but the TV in my bar usually drowns out the sound well enough. Update: The fan burnt out. Not the unit's fault. I set my house to 55 degrees when I am away. One day I came home and noticed the fan was making some noise. Same thing happens with my power inverter in my car. I let the house heat up and the noise went away. About a month and a half later I noticed the machine was no longer making ice. Checked out the fan and sure enough it was toast. I ordered a new machine and I am going to replace the fan in this one. I like to have a back up. Point of the update, if you are like me and set you home to a low temp when away, turn off the ice machine and don't kick it back on until the house is warmed up again.
