I was a little worried by some of the negative reviews, but I have to say this product is far superior than the brita pitcher. The travel size 1.5 gallon is perfect for 2-4 ppl. Got this as a gift for my parents and have been enjoying it for a week now. The water tastes so clean and the stainless keeps it at a cool temp, it reminds me of what perhaps drinking an iceberg would taste like. The taste is so clean and pure it even makes coffees and teas taste better. There is zero rubber taste like a few reviews mentioned (perhaps they assembled it wrong?) speaking of which be very careful screwing in the filters so they don’t strip. The stainless steel water level spout is a must. It does take about an hour to filter, but so far weve been filling it at night before bed and we’ve never run out. Also be careful not to overfill, as it will leak, but it’s easy to see when lower compartment is full simply lift off the top compartment and check the level and you will be able to learn to read your spout leveler quickly. Overall this is a major upgrade from the brita pitcher when it comes to taste and you won’t have to fill it as often and your filtered water doesn’t sit in plastic. Also the filters can last years. Very happy with this purchase should have bought sooner! Product came double packaged and had zero dents or imperfections.

And love it. My family all has had the Berkey and I took a while to make the investment. The setup was done by my husband, seemed easy for him. Then I tested it with the food coloring provided and voila! The red colored water only stayed at the top, being completely filtered. What great filters let me tell you! We have a working system and I’m happy. It looks great too. And most important, water tastes great! Performance of Berkey is superior! Get one I promise you’ll not regret it

We've used this system for six months now on a daily basis. All we've ran through it has been Bottled Water from the grocery store which is already filtered. The minerals in the bottled water were enough to slow the filtration process so much that I'm now having to replace the two elements inside. They do not last as long as the manufacturer claims. Our Brita system works much better and the water tastes way better! Deeply regret buying this unit as it is large and was expensive for what it does! I am Very disappointed with it's performance and it does not live up to their claims! The stainless steel build is nice though and it is easy to use, it just takes longer and longer for the water to pass through the elements to where now it just drips slowly taking hours for one gallon to make it through!

The unit is big- measure and be sure you realize the spigot is lower than bottom. Doesn’t fit under cabinets. The filters last a long time, but are expensive. I’m picky about sink water and we were spending a lot on bottles- this is better and earth friendly. Easy to set up and maintain

Instead of buying bottle water we run the city water through the filter and it removes enough junk out of the water that it tastes similar to bottled water. Everything we mix in the water tastes good. We love it.

We recently put in our sandpoint well and we did our due diligence and had the water tested. We're a little high in iron and bborderline for a few other things and we'd heard good things about the Berkey so we bought this one! We live off grid so the gravity feed option was perfect for us. We've been using it daily for about a month now and we've had ZERO issues with it! The quality is really good! The flow rate works great for us. We use our Berkey water for drinking (hubby and I plus our K9 kids) and for food preparation. No complaints!! We highly recommend it😎

I've heard great things about Berkey - I can tell it filters out a lot of iron and the water tastes great, but the quality on the plastic pieces doesn't live up to the name. It's very difficult not to strip out the thumb screws - and I think this would be hard to keep water available for a household. It filters well, but isn't all that practical.
