  • Only 2 complaint with this product
Color: Red
I love this machine. If you are looking to make your own mochas and don't want to spend a ton of money on a machine starting off, this is a perfect machine to start with. It is very easy to use, comes with instructions and is very clear cut on how to properly clean and take care of it. My biggest complaint, and I have seen other people in comments say the same thing, is that quite frequently it won't make the same amount of coffee to the water amount you put in it. I usually do not have any issues with this if I am making 2 cups, but every time I make 4, it will only give me maybe 3 cups. I will try turning it off, releasing the pressure and then turning it back on and seeing if it will pour the rest of the water left in it and it won't. I have to add a lil more water to the machine and then it will pour the rest of the water into the cup, although this can dilute the coffee taste if you use too much water. Very frustrating at times. 2nd complaint (and this one I don't find to be a big deal because its an easy fix) is the machine doesn't make super hot coffee. It makes hot coffee, but by the time you have poured it and fixed up your mocha, it is warm, and you will want to heat it up. I usually (call me crazy) will just put it in the microwave for maybe 15-20 secs and it will be perfect for drinking. What do you expect though from a machine this cheap? It serves its purpose in making the mocha I love to drink, and the little quirks it has are manageable. This machine has saved me a ton of money by making the coffee myself rather than spending the $5-$6 going to a cafe to buy it. I use it almost every day because my family are heavy coffee drinkers and love their mochas, and this machine in 1 month has saved probably close to $100 because we can just buy the syrup to make our favorite mocha whenever we want. My next machine I do intend to splurge and buy one of the more expensive ones since I am drinking coffee more than I did previously (I drink maybe 2 cups a week, not much but I am loving how much money I save by being able to make my own). I bought this one because I was not sure I was going to like making my own mochas, and did not want to invest a ton of money into a machine that would potentially be rarely used. ... show more

  • For the money, it's okay but don't expect much
Color: Red
This is a barely adequate espresso maker. For the money, it's okay but don't expect it to make very good espresso, cappuccino or cafe late. It claims to have 5 bars pressure but that is not true. It barely makes any foam when you steam milk. You only get a tiny bit of creama when you make espresso, even when you use brand new coffee beans. The aluminum nozzle tarnished after the first use, and the glass carafe cannot stand up on its own. The handle of the carafe is heavy and makes the pot tip over. So you have to leave the carafe in the espresso maker except when you pour into your cup. ... show more

  • Phenomenal flavor!!! But....
Color: Black
This IMUSA was a replacement for a lesser IMUSA that lasted over three years. That one was the "retro" looking one, kinda "Jetsons-ish", with a gimicky temp gauge in the front. It was good, for the price, but performance soon waned... THIS one, has a really good quality to it. The knob felt positive, the switch nice and clicky, and the grinds basket has three locking tabs that really seals it in. When it was new, the silicone seal for the basket was so tight, it was like an arm wrestling match, but broke in nicely after several weeks of use. The mouth for the water was smaller than the previous, so you must have good aim. The screw-cap is larger, though, so it's easier to remove. We have been drinking the same brand of espresso grounds for the past 10 years, so we know every nuance. This machine elevated those nuances, and made some notes even brighter. I attribute that to the 5-Bar working pressure, quick heating time, and faster delivery. For the price, it met all my expectations, and exceeded in the areas of flavor, and speed. Espresso is all we drink here at home. Now for the ONLY negatives (one star deduction)... It's very lightweight. SO lightweight, you will need two hands to remove the basket, especially in the beginning... but it will get easier. The feet on the bottom is slick... no rubber, or anything "sticky", so, with the weight, and no "grab" on the counter, yeah... two hands. I will be trying different methods of adding some "grip" to the feet, since our counters are stainless steel... but I digress.... Overall, if you are looking for a good balance between budget, and performance... look no further... this machine produces a mighty fine cup of espresso... you just have to work around the slippin' and slidin'... ;-) ... show more

  • Would be decent for the price but. . .
Color: Red
For the price this produces good espresso. The milk foamer works with some practice, however, it is difficult to make a tight foam if you want to do latte art etc. However, I put the brewing head in the dishwasher one time and it stripped all the chrome/nickel finish off the brew head. Another person has picture and mentioned this as tarnish - but it strips the finish. Underneath is slag metal, likely why the finish didn't stick. I work professionally in designing and manufacturing products like this - a dishwasher should not do this with proper finishing techniques on a metal surface. I am not sure what inferior finish was used. However, afterward it is impossible to clean the brew head as every time that I wipe it I come away with dark grey/ black stuff. I tried running water through a couple times and then tried one brew but it gave me a sore throat. ... show more

  • Best I've Used
Color: Black
I’ve had it a month now. I use it nearly every day – every day I’m home. I had another similar product, 2 of them over the years (15?) in fact. I like this one better. It’s easier to get the boiler cap off! It’s more difficult to leave on. The light in the switch is brighter and is more prominent. There is a second light on the other side that lights when the boiler is heating. Hard to miss both. As Scott B. noted, it isn’t the surest of foot. Its feet are part of the molded plastic casting. That is, they are not rubber. I don’t have an issue with this. Any of these products are so light that you have to use 2 hands anyway. These products are marketed as espresso machines. They aren’t They just make strong coffee. Time for fika. ... show more
