    • A bit of work to install, but very sturdy, and surprisingly quiet.
The instructions are rather limited in scope. Basically, “ here is a line drawing of what it’s supposed to look like” If you are comfortable with that, they are great bars. If you struggle with IKEA furniture, don’t buy these bars. You just need to lay out the parts on the car and figure out which uprights are left and right, and front and rear, Then figure out which bars are front and rear. Then 12 screws to put it together. I replaced 4 of the M6 Phillips head screws provided with 4 M6 eye bolts, To provide tie-down points. Surprisingly quiet at highway speeds, even with the sunroof open. I read some reviews and was hesitant because there were a lot that had complaints about difficult assembly. my experience was, in fact, the opposite. it's not done in five minutes but with minimal skills it should take no longer than forty minutes. look at the pictures. the pieces only fit one way,

    • cross bar holes not aligned with bases, poor quality control
I bought these to put on my daughter's 09 Impreza. You will need to lay everything out, figure out which cross bar is the front and back. They are different. The cross bars will probably need the holes opened up/reamed out because they are drilled about 1/8" too far away from the mounting base. Make sure you have a good quality metric allen wrench. The one that came with it is so soft that I couldn't tighten up the screws into the mounting bases because it rounded off on the first pan head bolt. Overall fit is acceptable, but people will be able to look at it and see the misfit parts. We haven't tested it with her play kayak driving down the road... ... show more

The item upon arrival was slightly damaged. Im still not sure how, but there was a screw pop and scarring under the plastic wrap that was protecting it for shipping. Aswel, it had to be a manufacturing issue as the screws arnt even long enough to create that kind of effect. While not impressed with the damage it was not worth the return of a full product to me. Installation was extremely straight forward and only took 15 minutes from full boxing to installation on the car. It was steady when mounted and was still happy with it despite the damage. While I still wish that it came without damage, I figured that it wont be long before I put my own dents on it either. ... show more

    • OEM instructions do not match aftermarket parts. Spent 4+ hrs still not completely installed.
This is the most infuriating piece of equipment I've ever tried to install, I'm reasonably mechanically inclined(oil changes, etc). OEM instructions for an aftermarket setup. So no labeling on how it is supposed to go(like the OEM instructions say). And the screws, while they match up fine on their own, once you get the rack in place you cannot line up the screw(OEM screws have a little cm guider to line you up according to multiple YouTube vids.) Twisting blindly hoping the thing catches... I've been at this for 4+ hours and only have half of the two racks installed.....fuuuuu ... show more

    • Fits
Not the easiest install, but that is due to Subaru, not the rails. These fit my son’s ‘09 Impreza hatchback using the factory fittings on the car. They have been holding solid and my son has since attached a snowboard rack with speeds of 75 mph.
