This sauna was not easy to put up or store for me. It would have been a lot easier for me if the joints could rorate. The main reason for this purchase was to help with arthritis. The chair that came with the product was absolutely TOO low; again due to my arthritis I knew I would Struggle to get up. I purchased a foldable beach chair from Wal-Mart to fix that problem. Hooking up the steam unit was the easiest for me however on the first attempt the unit failed to preform. It turned on for a few moments, made some random beeping sounds and shut off. After going back and forth with the seller for tech support I decided to return the item. I am really struggling with arthritis and need somthing NOW to aid with the symptoms. I was using the sauna at my local gym but their hours are all over the place now, but until I can find a item I can assemble and use at home I have no choice but to use the sauna at the gym ... show more

I love the tank it's a good 2nd generation style, the remote is a good touch but the tent literally has to be forced over the frame and it bends on both sides because it's too small. I'm 5'5 and can sit comfortably but it rubs against my knees because the tent is too small for the frame.

Not sure if this was used before I got it. The box it came in was really dent and torn. I'm assuming it was the handling process. Once I opened it, the water tank has some humidity. I also did not get any instructions so I have to guess how to place all this together. The foot massager is also broken. Not happy with any of it. ... show more

This Crew & Axel steam sauna is the first sauna I ever owned, and it's lived up to its name. In our Asian household, my mom encourages steam sauna to aid with various illnesses, and particularly right after birth supposedly to detox and aid in weight loss. The traditional way that we've always steamed detox is to add herbs into a boiling pot of water, then put a blanket over the pot and ourselves and soak up the steam. This steam sauna is a step up, having both a steamer, a zipped-up enclosure, a chair, and a foot massager that I can roll under my feet. The big difference between this and the traditional Asian steam treatment is that this modern sauna allows my head and hands from being too heated up, so this is essentially a combination of traditional Asian sauna and the bigger sauna places at the spa. The only thing is, I'm around 165 pounds and had a hard time moving around inside the sauna. I guess with the traditional Asian steam sauna with a blanket, I could always open the blanket up at any time, whereas it does take some time for me to learn this more advanced and modern way to steam sauna. Here, I can just use the remote control to switch it off, but then it takes time again to start the steam up. This device also has a very pretty pink and black design, with a pattern that looks like a designer handbag. However, the chair is a bit uncomfortable, and I guess I get too relaxed during the steam treatment that I had a hard time standing up and getting up off it when done. My husband laughed his butt off when this arrived, and I showed him the photo of it on my order list. He’s like ‘what the…’ but guess what? I wanted it, and I like it, and that’s all that matters!!! I haven’t lost any noticeable weight yet, but I feel it does help remove toxins, and purifies me. I like the feeling that I get after a session inside my little sauna tent. I think with continued use, I will lose a few pounds. I’m hopeful about that. Is it the top of the line quality? No. I mean, it’s only an at home unit that costs $130+ dollars. You can’t expect spa quality that likely costs a couple of thousand, but for the price it is a reasonable buy, in my personal opinion. I’m 5’6’’, and it’s a tad of a snug fit for me, height wise, but it does the job. If you are much taller than me, you may have an issue with this particular unit. So taking into account the quality, value for the cost, and effectiveness of this portable, personal sauna, I give it an overall 3.75 star rating, rounded up to 4 stars, with a 7/10 recommendation score. It’s not perfect, but for the price, I find it pretty reasonable. It comes with the chair, so no need to use your own or buy one, which is helpful, and just a nice bonus.
