    • Buy the Basic V2 Version, Not the Neo
Color: Ender 3 V2 Neo
If you're the type that likes to tinker, please stay away from the Neo version. The X-axis, Z-axis, and top rail extrusions don't have slots on the front sides. Compare the pictures of the Neo and against the basic V2 and you'll see the difference. The lack of these extra slots put you at a disadvantage when upgrading or adding mods. I'm not sure what Creality was thinking when they did this. Aesthetic reasons? Either way, I think it's stupid because it seems like it took extra effort on their part. Basic 2020 and 2040 extrusions come with slots on all four faces, so for them to remove these from two of the faces is just wasted effort. They killed practically for what seems like an attempt at improving the visual appeal. We buy these for their utility. If you're content with running a stock printer, it does print wonderfully with some minor tuning. Update 12/23: I ordered Capricorn tubing as an "upgrade" (YMMV), and when I tried to install the new pneumatic fittings on the extruder, I found that the extruder outlet isn't threaded. The stock extruder comes with a generic plastic clip that just snaps in-place on the extruder outlet. I didn't confirm whether this is the same on the hotend side. It probably is because the plastic clip is the same there too. So the nice pneumatic fittings won't work on the Neo. I ordered an all-metal heatbreak (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09JVPBHQZ?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_ypp_rep_k0_1_13&=&crid=1P92X58YU37U6&sprefix=all%2Bmetal%2Bhot&th=1) to install on my hotend to more safely print at higher temps. Lo and behold, the copper end of the heatbreak doesn't fit into the stock heatsink because the heatsink diameter is too small. So although the product description says it fits V2, it doesn't fit the NEO. ... show more

My two sons, ages 12 and 13 requested this product to create their own 3D objects at home. They were able to assemble the machine all by themselves! They watched videos on how to use the machine and after a couple trial and error attempts they were able to print amazing projects. In just a few days however, the screen started glitching. This caused problems setting up the print jobs. My son and I reached out to the company to report our issue and they responded quickly and sent a new screen within the week, no questions asked! I received this yesterday, spent about an hour setting it up but could have done it faster if I wanted to. I was printing within the hour. The directions that come with it aren't very good. Watch the install video and it walks you through it. My only complaint is the power supply fan is VERY noisy and run all of the time. It seems like a common issue with the V2 printers. I watched a few YT videos about replacing the fans. I found a direct fan replacement and will get it ordered and hopefully quiet this down, otherwise I'm going to move the printer to another room. ... show more

    • Outstanding Quality for the price
In the past I’ve bought MakerBot and DaVinci, and bought this for my son. The MakerBot was about $2k with $200 printheads that gave out frequently. This was $189 and rarely jams and is dramatically quieter and prints better quality than the MakerBot. The DaVinci are junk, like work horse to print mass volume prints, reliable but super loud. For the Ender 3, we bought a raspberry pi and set it up to monitor the prints. My 10 year old son has been modifying preset designs in the autocad software, setting up and completing prints, and correcting filament jams by himself. This is a crazy value, and wasn’t very difficult to put together…definitely a couple hours and watching YouTube videos on someone putting it together, even though the same model, not all the parts are exactly the same as ones in the video.
