The media could not be loaded. I grew up in my grandfather's auto repair shop that my brother runs today. I own MAC, Matco, Snap-On, SK, New Britain and Craftsman sockets and ratchets. This Olsa SAE deep socket set is industrial art. The workmanship is flawless. They are built a bit like impact sockets which is great and not great at the same time. Deep impact sockets are made to beat on and they are built differently than regular deep sockets because there is a lot of metal on the bottom of impact sockets to take the torque of a commercial air gun without breaking. The Olsa deep sockets have a lot of metal as well, more than my old Craftsman sockets but less than my Snap-On deep impact sockets which I have beat to death for decades. The point is that the extra metal in the bottom of the Olsa deep sockets reduces the sockets depth reach versus the full depth Craftsman socket. See the photo of my 50-year-old chrome Craftsman socket and the same size Olsa socket with the depth gauges. The old Craftsman has an extra 3/4 inch of reach, and which can be really important on some jobs like a recent floor jack rebuild. The Olsa deep sockets are not deep enough to reach the hex at the bottom of the hydraulic pump plunger to replace the seals. I had to pick up a fully deep Craftsmen 1 1/16 deep socket to finish the job. See the attached video to see what I mean. The photo of the 3 sockets shows my 50-year-old chrome Craftsman on the left, the Olsa chrome socket in the center and my black Snap-On deep impact on the right. As mentioned, the Olsa sockets have a depth reach in between the Craftsman and Snap-on that is hard to see in the photos. This data is an “FYI”. The quality of the Olsa sockets is remarkable. So much so that I ordered the Olsa 18-piece metric deep set for my lake cottage for my machines. But I will still keep my 50-year-old Craftsman deep sockets because of their better reach. I have not found another "low end" socket/ratchet maker that can match the “big 3” (Snap-On, MAC, Matco) for fit and finish. But the lack of full depth on the Olsa deep sockets can present issues as I demonstrated in the video. Hope this helps!

First time trying olsa tools, and ive got to say you cannot beat this quality for the price. Came with a nice little tray for the sockets and sockets seem super nice.

Seem like a great socket set. Great value. Feel/look close to a pro level $200 set. Clear etching, come in hard plastic holder, chrome seems to go into socket a litte. Which is nice, usually budget set chrome stops at tip and inside socket looks different. Inside is also deep, some deep sockets after 3/4-1” thin out to whole that half diameter. The hex shape in these runs deep. Holder is great to stick right in to box. Not bulky and uses little space as possible. I have only used these a few times so far, and have not shown any wear. I haven’t put them through hard use though. If any issues arise I will update this post.

These are living in my RV so they aren't going to get heavy use, but they seem well made and the numbers are readable.

I bought these just out of curiosity since they were on sale and because they seemed to get very good reviews. I've been building, repairing, and maintaining equipment and vehicles of all kinds for over 50 years and am an absolute tool nut. As a result I have used many different brands of sockets manufactured in many countries; so how do these particular Olsa sockets stack up?. The chrome seems very tough. The sockets fit tight on the hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) providing a sure connection. But...the manufacturing is a bit subpar as nearly every socket in the set has some sort of machining flaw. Did I get a set of seconds? Also the socket walls are overly thick. Over the years I have run into many situations where this would have been an issue. So overall I give these sockets a B. If your budget is tight NEVER buy sockets made in China. If you have to buy made in Taiwan, Gearwrench and Tekton are the best in my experience but if you can always buy USA made even if you have to buy used to fit your budget.

I purchased a Hansen socket organizer and realized just how many skips other socket sets have. I found out about olsa while looking online and wish I knew of them before. Every single socket set they sell has every size needed for the Hansen organizer. Some even have more than needed to fill the organizer. The quality is great and the price is amazing for what you get. I don't think you could find a better more affordable socket set elsewhere. I have about 4 or 5 of their socket sets now and I plan on slowly replacing all of my others. I also bought their swivel roto head ratchet set and they are great too. I will continue buying products from olsa as I need them. I just wish they had more tools. Hopefully as they expand they will increase their product line.

Bought these sockets because I wanted a cheap 1/4 drive set that went to 5/8ths to keep in my pinball tool box. This fits the ticket. By no means is this professional tool truck quality that I'd rely on to make my living as an auto tech. But perfectly fine for hobby/diy.
