My prior paddle was a sub $100 XSPAK paddle with the same dimensions as the CRBN1 16 mm I just purchased. As with the XSPAK I needed to added lead weight to the top and the upper sides of the paddle to provide a better swing weight, and the uncomfortable-ish handle needed an over grip. I was so hoping the CRBN1 would somehow be a "WOW!!" paddle. But it isn't. Compared to the XSPAK, which costs half as much, the two paddles play very similarly. That is to say, they play very well. I find the CRBN1 to offer somewhat better control; it has a slightly plusher feel. Does this justify the added cost? I wonder. Mind you, I am not complaining. The paddle is well built and I am keeping it. And I am happy I got it on sale for 20% list price. Bottom line: certainly a very solid paddle. But you can get 90% of its goodness in other paddles that cost 50% less. ... show more

Purchased from Amazon on sale (retails for $179). Used for approximately 10 hours of play. Previous experience with Prism Flash 16mm and 11six24 Monarch All Court 16mm paddles. Build Quality Concerns: Major disappointment with durability. The edge guard detached after only 10 hours of play, despite showing no visible wear or scrapes. For a paddle at this price point, I expected much better quality control and construction. Performance: The paddle didn't deliver on its key advertised features: -Sweet Spot: Contrary to marketing claims of a "larger sweet spot," I found it noticeably smaller than my previous paddles -Spin: Despite being marketed as high-spin, I struggled to generate the spin I could achieve with other paddles -Control vs. Power: While advertised as a control paddle, it felt overly dampened - the ball seemed to almost stop upon contact rather than providing the responsive feel I expected Customer Service Positive CRBN's support team deserves recognition - they were prompt, clear, and friendly in addressing my questions about the paddle. Value & Recommendation At $179, the combination of build quality issues and performance that contradicted key selling points makes this difficult to recommend. Given how different my experience was from expectations, I wonder if I received a defective unit.
