This 10” Craftsman chainsaw has been by far the best battery powered chainsaw I have ver owned. I (not on purpose) have abused it so many times, cutting wood in streams, cutting small 6-8” trees in the pouring rain to get my UTV out of the woods and it has NEVER skipped a beat. I use it with 4-6 amp hour batteries for a bit more oomph and cuts through everything. It’s not quite as convenient to maintain as some other battery chainsaws as it uses a traditional screwdriver & nut blade tension system as opposed to most battery powered saws use all hand operated chain tension systems. If you can get past having to do chain maintenance like a gas saw but with the light weight and ease of a battery powered saw then this saw will NOT disappoint. I have cut down 8” 30ft trees with it on one battery and processed the wood all on one battery. Blades are cheap and easy to get straight from Amazon in 3-packs, it uses normal bar oil and is insanely durable. I have been using mine for over 6-8 months now without any issues. This saw is so good I bought a second one in case Craftsman stops making it. In my mind this is the best UTV, trail and small tree processing chainsaw that you can possibly buy. A+++ ... show more

This chain saw works as advertised. Lightweight and does small jobs. Easy to handle. The tool that comes with it is useful as the chain can come off like most chainsaws do. It cuts very well and appears well made. I do NOT regret the purchase.

I bought this little chainsaw after having excellent results with other 20 volt Craftsman tools. It didn't disappoint. It was used excessively while clearing woods for an entrance into a 34 acre property, and used for cutting many small trees that actually exceeded the capabilities of the saw. Like with all of my other 20 volt Craftsman tools, battery life was good using 4.0 amp batteries, and recharged quickly. Once the trees were down, they were cut into small pieces. I made THOUSANDS of cuts, and only replaced the chain once. The automatic chain oiler works well, and there was never any leakage. After 8 months of constant use and abuse, the saw started making noise and the chain spins intermittently. It's probably not worth repairing cost wise, so I bought a new saw (same model) to replace my original one. I feel like I got my money's worth out of the saw for what I did with it. If the second saw lives as long as the first one, I'll be happy. This is a great little lightweight chainsaw, and I'm sure it will last for many years under normal usage. Buy it! ... show more

Craftsman has been great to work with on this item. Note: the chain tightening screw is NOT located on the side like it is on most chainsaws. It is located on the front. I had problems with the chainsaw throwing chains until Craftsman educated me on how to tighten the chain on this chainsaw. It works great. No unhealthy exhaust fumes either. It is also very quiet compared to traditional chainsaws; which I am sure my neighbors appreciate. I highly recommend this chainsaw. ... show more

Yeah this thing is garbage save your money buy a gas-powered chainsaw I used it to cut up two pallets of wood and the main gear inside the motor housing the teeth stripped cheap China metal and I can't find replacement parts anywhere

I bought this for my husband as a Father’s Day gift. He wanted something light weight yet durable to take with us camping to cut wood up. He loves this saw! The battery life is great and he has used it all summer with absolutely no problems with it. I would definitely recommend this product.
