  • This works on neck pain
Color: Blue
Not pretty, not very comfortable. Been dealing with pretty severe neck pain for last several months. Began to see a chiropractor who recommended his decompression services for an additional high dollar amount as insurance would not cover it. Sought out a much lower cost replacement therapy. Happy to say this gives me great results. After a long day this is the best relief I have found. Still working with the chiropractor for hopefully long term relief. If you have neck pain and stiffness, give this a try. Has helped me considerably just a few times a day. ... show more

  • I was pleasantly surprised - plus recommendations on how to wear
Color: Blue
First of all, this CRABCLAW device is not some magical cure, but it can (and does for me) provide temporary relief for certain types of neck issues. For example, I'm a senior citizen and have spent a lifetime working out in various gyms. Over the past 10 years, my neck vertebrae have begun to compress so badly, that now, whenever I turn my head left or right, it is painful (like a deeply ingrained headache). Just sitting down and watching TV on a couch becomes painful in my neck area, or worse yet, while seated by my computer. Sure, I've tried heating pads and they might provide temporary relief, but the moment you remove the heat - well, the pain returns. So what to do? I saw this Cervical Neck Traction Device (boy, now that sounds like a fancy medical term, doesn't it) on Amazon, and at that low price, I had to order it. Now I was fully anticipating this device to be another cheap piece of junk (like snake oil)- given it's low price. When it arrived (quick shipping), I began to experiment with it. The first thing I discovered is "NOT TO USE THE VELCRO NECK STRAPS" (there are 2 of them). Instead, just attach the U-shaped device to your neck and begin pumping. What occurs then is that the majority of stretching (to use that term), occurs behind your neck, with a little on the sides. Now, if you were to fasten the velcro straps, what I found was that as the device inflates, the velcro straps can irritate the front of your neck, but more so, the device inflation on the sides "can" or "might" apply pressure to your carotid artery, thus giving you a different type of headache or discomfort. I noticed this right away, and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that the device works better with the velcro straps not engaged. The big question is, "does it work?" Well, yes it does - to a point! It's not going to cure your headaches, but it will provide relief. Right now, as I am typing this on my desktop PC, I'm wearing mine and I have no neck pain at all. It provides added relief when you're sitting at a computer because what often occurs is that your head is being either forced down or up (depending on how you have your seat adjusted). That can provide additional pressure and give you headaches. So, this device has surprised me. I wear it for around an hour while watching TV, and also wear it while seated at my desktop computer. It provides added relief when needed. Well, what about the negatives, some might ask? Keep in mind that this device is not a cure-all or permanent fix. It does what it was advertised to do - and again, wear how I recommended it. The only negative that I can add is that the the black hand rubber inflation device (that you squeeze), easily comes off while depressing, so keep that in mind. So given its ridiculously low price and the fact that it does provide temporary relief, I find this CRABCLAW Cervical Neck Traction Device to be a pleasant surprise. That's why I'm giving it the full 5 stars. As always, your mileage may vary (YMMV) - everything is subjective. ... show more

  • Works as advertised and easy to use.
Color: Blue
That's about it. My situation was not resolved but the product works well as advertised. Some pain relief and restored flexibility achieved. It is a strange sensation to have y our jaw used to expand the neck vertebrae, but stretching traction is achieved. It is as comfortable as possible, and easy to inflate/deflate using the valved pump bulb. Those who missed how to use valve have not had success. Ignore those reviews. This item works! ... show more

  • Fantastic Neck Brace!
Color: Blue
I LOVE THIS NECK BRACE! I used this brace after surgery and I had to sleep in a chair for a few weeks. If you've ever had to do this you know how bad your neck hurts after sleeping from being kinked in a weird position. I tried so many different braces but this was by far the best! You can adjust the fullness of the brace to your liking. You can also adjust the tightness around your neck. It stayed inflated all night. The velvety material was so comfy and breathable. This such an awesome brace for sleeping in a chair (or a plane- great for long flights despite it being on the larger side). It deflates to small size and is easily storaged. I wish I had this for my previous surgeries. This is a keeper for sure. Since I didn't use it for traction of any kind I can't speak to that but as far as sleeping upright in a chair it's amazing. Don't hesitate to buy it, it's worth every penny!! ... show more

  • Needed to add velcro to fit smaller women's necks. Also sprung a leak.
Color: Blue
The product is very well made. I felt it was too high and not snug enough for a small woman's neck to work right. It didn't pump up the back of my neck but slipped over it and added pressure to my jaw. I found it uncomfortable and too big for me (13 1/2" neck). It sounded like a great idea and I really wanted it to work, it just didn't work for me. My husband like liked it, it worked for him. I think it's a great idea, I hope they also make a smaller one for a woman. . . Update: I decided to add velcro on the beginning of the straps to make it smaller. Now a year + later I can make it work for a smaller neck. There is room to do this, the company should add longer velcro to the beginning of the straps to make it work for smaller necks also! Unfortunately it developed a leak and I need to pump it up every few seconds now. It's no longer returnable, so I will need to buy a new one and make sew on the velcro again. This could be a good product if they would make it more durable and adjustable. ... show more
