I have used an inflatable spa for years, finding them easy to use and much, much less expensive than a permanent, built-in spa. Up until now, I have used the Coleman/SaluSpa brands (they appear to be identically manufactured, just under differing brands) but the only supplier of them, Bestway, seems to have gone out of business due to the pandemic; at least, I gave up trying to order a replacement spa from them after months of trying. So instead, I purchased this CosySpa unit, which cost ~$400 more than my old SaluSpa unit which it replaced. Bottom line: The CosySpa is not only more expensive than the SaluSpa/Coleman unit, but is overall an inferior product, though there are a few places where it comes off better in comparison, which I'll cover, below. Comparison of CosySpa 4-person inflatable spa with Coleman/Saluspa 4-person inflatable spa: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CosySpa Pluses: - Much easier setup due to pump/heater unit being built-in...no wrestling with all those hose connections - Spa inflation is also much simpler as a result - you just connect the air hose to the normally-capped bubble jet outlet with the air input valve. This also means it is possible to re-inflate the spa walls if they lose pressure without having to completely drain the spa so you can access the bubble jet hose outlet like you have to with the Coleman/SaluSpa version. - Heater allows raising the water temp to 107ºF (42ºC) unlike the Coleman/SaluSpa which is capped at 104ºF (probably for safety reasons, since it's theoretically unsafe to use at temperatures higher than that). However, I like it just a little hotter, so this is a plus in favor of the CosySpa in my book. - The spa walls are comparatively lower, which makes it somewhat easier to get in and out. - Available accessories (for additional cost) include a set of headrests, which I haven't seen available with the SaluSpa - The (single) filter comes with an additional cloth screen to help filter out larger debris. Minuses: - Even though supposedly designed for four people, the CosySpa is decidedly smaller than the SaluSpa equivalent, both in the height of the spa walls and the interior diameter. In fact, I strongly recommend that you NOT purchase the CosySpa 4-person unit if you are over 6 feet tall - you would not be comfortable. Furthermore, while the CosySpa 4-person is comfortable for 1 user, two would be cramped and four people would be quite impractical unless you're having, well, that kind of party. - Compared to the SaluSpa/Coleman, the CosySpa is of inferior construction all around. Not only is it smaller but the plastic used is thinner and it just feels flimsier. Given all the corner-cutting, it's hard to justify the higher price (other than it being actually available) - Because the spa walls are thinner, you can't inflate it as much, which means they do not provide as sturdy support when climbing in and out. - The built-in heater is much lower powered; it took over 48 hours to get the water heated to usable temperature upon initial filling (Coleman/SaluSpa heats its larger volume of water within 24 hours) - The spa cover and inflatable insulator must be ordered separately, and remain in two pieces (the inflatable insulator fits into the cover to make it a single item on the Coleman/SaluSpa) which complicates the process of removing the cover when I want to use it. - Because the water volume is less, you have to watch the chemical balance carefully - I found it all too easy to over-chlorinate. In summary, the CosySpa is an inferior product compared to the Coleman/SaluSpa unit of equivalent capacity, and costs more, both in its base price and in the additional cost for needed accessories, e.g. covers. But it does work and is comfortable for an average-sized person if this is the only brand you can find. ... show more
