I wanted to write this review to relate my experience with this company’s customer service. I purchased one of their ice making machines. I ran into a small issue with it and was reluctant to contact this company as my wife and I are front line workers at a government hospital and have been undergoing considerable stress and pressures as most front liners have with the recent developments and was not ready for more. After an initial email, I was extremely surprised to receive a return email within the day. They were polite, caring and remedied my problem with lightning speed. No hassles. I feel that good customer service like this deserves mention as it is a rare commodity now days. I would not hesitate to purchase anything from them in the future as they are truly honorable and trustworthy and dedicated to their customers’ needs.

I reviewed about 30+ Ice Makers on Amazon and other sources. Many had reported problems and breakdowns. This COSTWAY model EP24228BK had very few reported problems. I wanted an Ice Maker that produced 35-40lbs of ice in 24hrs. I also decided on bullet shaped ice over cubed. There are pros and cons with each. The bullet shaped ice is a little wet , but great for chewing (hopefully my dentist won’t see this post). If you plan to store the ice in the freezer, the will clump together as they are a little wet. I solved this small problem but putting a basket of made ice in a baggy and lay it relatively flat in the freezer. When the next batch is full, I take the bag out of the freezer and break it apart with a rolling pin. I then put the ice into my broken refrigerator ice bin. If you plan to use the ice within a few hours you can skip the baggy and put the ice directly in to an ice bucket. The cubed ice makers have a similar problem, but they usually stick together in the basket of the the ice makers. As many of the portable ice makers seem to break after the 90-day or 1 year warranty ends, I strongly suggest purchasing the 5 yr extended warranty. I hav used this COSTWAY Ice maker once or twice a week for the past 9 months (we’ve been going through a lot ice in this 90+ degree weather). In this updated review, the machine still works great and does everything I wanted or expected it to do.

My wife obsessives about having enough ice when we have guests over. Our freezer broke just before Christmas and it was not cold enough to leave bags of ice outside or even in a cooler. We got this in just before we were to have our family dinner and we just found out more than expected was showing up for the dinner. My wife kept saying that the new ice machine would not keep up. Not only did it keep up but we had a full container at the end of the day. The only question I have is why you are suppose to use only spring water in it and not other filtered waters. Other than that it is a wonderful machine. I waited a month to respond to make sure it was not just a fluke. So far it has never failed us. If my wife believes in it you can bet it does the job. I never respond with a review of a product other than just giving it a rating unless it exceeds our expectations like this one has.

We use ice. Everyday, lots of it. Our freezer ice-maker cannot keep up so we always have a counter ice-maker running. We spent extra on this one and I'm glad we did. The best thing is that it is at least 50% quieter than any of the half-dozen cheap ice-makers we have bought. It produces more ice and when it is full, it is quiet, none of the repetitive checking to see if the bin is full that all of the cheap ice-makers complete which is very noisy. The is almost clear and much more dense when compared to the soft-ice of the cheap ice-makers. VERY happy with this purchase.

My little Igloo jammed up after a few months use. It made28 lbs. Great, then it stopped working. I searched long & hard before purchasing this COSTWAY. I did not weigh the ice made during the day, but I had enough to put 2 gal. bags in the freezer while we used the ice as it made it. It seems like a very solid and sturdy appliance that hasn’t jammed up when it gets full. I have not used the self cleaning cycle yet. My old ice machines did not have it so I cleaned this one the old fashioned way. I forgot the COSTWAY had that cycle. Maybe next week I’ll give it a try to see how well it works. It fits very well on our counter top, but not completely under the top cabinets. It doesn’t have room to open the lid if pushed clear back while in use. It’s front drain is more convenient than the side drain.

We needed a solution to repeated ice shortage since our French door fridge makes a very small amount and our entertaining has significantly increased with a new pool and basement renovation. We were very skeptical of a counter ice machine. I did a ton of research and decided on this one. It’s fantastic! Makes 2 different size cubes. I was shocked that the ice didn’t melt quickly. The smaller size suits our needs perfectly. I’ve been using purified water gallons to make the Ice. I had 10 lbs of ice in a couple of hours. We store extra ice bags in a freezer and no more ice problem. This is a great machine to have in hand if you entertain! Highly recommended!

This is the 3rd countertop ice maker we've owned, and it is BY FAR the best!! It makes more ice in a day than the others could make in a month!!..not exaggerating. I have only had this product about a month, so haven't had to clean it yet. The only thing I could say negatively is that there really isn't a size difference between the small and large cubes. I don't really care. It makes enough ice in a day for our family of 5 to use for a week.

We've owned two other icemakers -- and they did a very good job. This icemaker, however, is amazing! It produces more ice than the first two icemakers, is relatively quiet and we actually have to shut down the machine quite often because it makes so much ice (cute little bullet-shaped ice in two different sizes) that we have nowhere to put it. And, this is our only form of ice production! Additionally, it's beautiful -- a shiny candy-apple red that looks great with our black appliances. I highly recommend this icemaker!
