  • Finally I have my pure plank ✊🏽 Finally I have my pure plank ✊🏽
It's a very nice and comfortable product. I went to pick it up and it's a good size. I hope to get good results, but the important thing is discipline and consistency. It's not a magic product; in fact, none of them are, so we have to work for these products to help us. Let's go!

  • Planks are super fun now,! Planks are super fun now,!
This plank board is beyond anything else I've tried for doing planks. There's a lot of cheap knock offs i tried that were too flimsy, couldn't hold my weight, or the grips broke. I've been using this more regularly after coming back to running and its been a godsend especially during a work break! I can carry it anywhere and the grip bars click in Super sturdy and the foam covering is like doing planks with the arms and elbows on clouds! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Planked My Back Pain Away
Overpriced or Effective? This is a fairly expensive piece of equipment for exercises that you can do on the floor. However, I'm going to list the reasons why someone might want to spend the money on it. 1) If you lack self motivation or need structure in your workouts, the app (which has different workout sets for different situations) paired with the Pure Plank is a big motivator. 2) If you like the results of planking but hate digging your elbows or hands onto a hard surface, the design of the Pure Plank negates those. That's really it. Personally, I've loved to do core workouts but have always hated digging my elbows onto a hard floor. Lately, I've been having some lower back pain. One session with the Pure Plank stretched out those muscles and took away the pain. It also introduced me to some new types of exercises. On top of that, it doesn't take up a ton of space. I already see myself using this throughout the year, as it is actually kind of fun to use. If you're self motivated and disciplined with your workouts... or you really don't mind planking on a hard surface, then you may not find value in this. Suggestions for Improvement 1) It'd be nice if the timer that comes with the Pure Plank were backlit. 2) It would be cool if the videos in the app were synced to follow the workout instructions. Example: If you have 2 reps of 15 seconds each with a 10 second break, why not just have a 40 second video in the app with a 10 second break screen in between reps ? I only say this because there were some exercises that I needed to watch several times, and the timer being separate takes one out of rhythm. ... show more

  • Long review. Covers plank and app.
My review will cover two distinct parts of the Pure Plank program: the actual plank and the app. The plank is what you're actually ordering, so I will cover that first. The app review is the part you should read if you're on the fence about this product(the app is a free download, check it out first!). Disclaimer: As of writing this review, this is my third day of using the Pure Plank. Let me preface all of this by saying, if your only use for the Pure Plank is to build up your front plank time to 2 or 3 minutes and not have elbow pain, this will do the job and do it well. First of all, I ordered the Plank on April 14th, and received it on April 18th. The box had some slight damage, but everything inside was intact. The kit includes the plank, the two grips, and a timer. The plank and the grips are well-made, but the timer is a little flimsy. I'll address the timer after the next paragraph. The plank: What can I say about the plank? It is as advertised, a comfortable and sturdy plank. It is solid and will not move around. The ports(holes) hold the grips and they do not jiggle. I feel this should be a given, considering the price of the unit. The plank is much bigger than I thought it would be, but it stores vertically and doesn't take up a lot of space when it's up against a wall. So far, I have not had any issues with the grips or the timer falling off when the plank is stored away vertically, as others have mentioned. Again, no complaints about the main stars of the show, the plank itself, the grips, and the ports(the holes). Bottom line, I'm on day 3 of using the Pure Plank and haven't had elbow pain yet. That's important because that is a game-breaker when most people do planks/core exercises. The timer: The timer is flimsy, and isn't very bright. This will probably not matter much because three days in, I have not used the timer a single time. Any app or stopwatch you use on your phone will be much more effective. I honestly believe the clock was thrown in at the last second to try to distract the fact that the product is basically a (well) padded piece of wood with holes in it, and some nice grips. Note: In order to turn on the timer, you need to hold down the start button for about 3 seconds. It should eventually power on. I had to contact customer support to ask about it, because I thought it was broken. It's not a big deal because I haven't used the timer at all. In all my dealings with customer service, they have been fast and responsive. The app: Oh boy, the app. I incorrectly assumed that since the app is free, it would require a passkey when I purchased the Pure Plank. It does not. You can get it on the app store now. If you're on the fence about buying the Pure Plank, and the app matters to you, please download it and check it out before you buy the Plank. I will mention a better app(IMO) at the end of this review. I feel the official app is underwhelming. It asks your overall goals(core strength, weight loss, mobility etc.), but it doesn't get your statistics. You don't enter what I consider fitness app staples: height, weight, current fitness level. Each goal has two exercise routines, a basic and an advanced one. If you don't like one of those, I hope you like the other one. Some videos have warmups and cooldowns, others don't. The training videos will show the exercises, but they don't do the actual number of repetitions with you. For example, if the workout requires 3 front plank iterations, the video will only do one set and then move onto the next exercise(side planks, for example). The overall presentation for the app is confused and chaotic. The calendar portion and the tracking system of the app are definite works in progress. Not up to par in my opinion. Please look at the official app and see if it works for you. It didn't click with me. One final note about the official app: Adam and Jay(Edge and Christian) appear to have minimal participation in the app, other than a few pictures doing planks. If you're a wrestling fan expecting Diamond Dallas Page levels of involvement, that's not the case here. To be fair, 99% of spokespeople will not be as involved as DDP in any product. I would strongly advise you to check out the official app, and other apps. I have downloaded an app called "Plank Challenge: Core Workout." The icon is red and features a woman in the plank position with the number 30 next to her. This app seems to be what I need so far, we shall see. I think if you combine this app with the Pure Plank, it is a winning combination to starting on the road back to fitness. I would advise checking out both apps(if you need an app to stay involved in your fitness). Overall, a solidly made plank, good customer support, and a lackluster app. However, if you need an app to stay on track and meet your fitness goals, it's not hard to find decent ones that complement the Pure Plank. I rated the Pure Plank 3/5 because it IS well-made, but is an expensive investment for what the customer actually receives, and the app is lackluster. ... show more

  • Gimmick
Such a gimmick! It is harder than my current workout mat. My elbows were actually sore using this. If you do planks on concrete or wood floors and don’t have a workout mat, I can see how this would help or just buy a $20 workout mat.
