  • Great tone
Color: Natural Style: Concert
This is now my go to Uke, behind my solid monogamy Luna and Enya. Great intonation and super sustain. Nothing but Sweet sweet sounds!

  • A beautiful instrument.
Color: Natural Style: Soprano
I've had quite a few ukes, from the $10 ones you get at the flea market to some more expensive ones, and I have to say, the overall build of this is one of the best I've seen. Even the stock strings are pretty decent, though I may switch them over to titanium monofilament just for fun. It costs a bit more than most ukes, but if you're looking for something you can seriously play...this, you can seriously play. Holds a tune well and looks great doing it. ... show more

  • absolutely gorgeous
Color: Natural Style: Soprano
The media could not be loaded. I'm in love and was from the first moment I held it in my hands. It's well crafted style, clean and striking, like a new pair of shoes. And like shoes, it takes use and wear to find true value. So I've been playing it now for over a month, racking up a couple dozen hours at least. At first, the sound seemed duller with less of a pop! to it than my other cheaper soprano ukulele. But I've come to realize it's a fools errand to compare instruments too much. It's really about what is familiar, what you're looking for, and what grows on you. And this ukulele has grown on me. It's not like other ukuleles because it's not other ukuleles. This thing is beautiful. Solid spruce front, spalted maple veneer – matched – on sides and rear with even more accenting the headstock. Add the mahogany neck and the satin finish and it's a piece of art. And as for the sound, it's what it is. I've posted a video of my sorry musically-illiterate tone-deaf self playing so you can get a sense. If you're only looking for a ukulele to play, the price is a bit steep. But if you're looking for a ukulele to play AND look good doing it, this is a worthy consideration. ... show more

  • A nice addition to your uke collection!
Color: Natural Style: Concert
I've purchased more than 1 Cordoba 24C Spruce Concert Ukulele, (1 for me and the others as gifts), and they seem to have the same pluses and minuses. Some things are simply cosmetic. I use a strap, and this model does not have any strap buttons. And the finish seems to be a rough matte finish. It doesn't feel smooth, but it helps in maintaining a good grip with your strumming arm when you hold it. It's a beautiful instrument, which makes it a great gift. The spalted maple back and sides give each instrument a custom quality. The ends of the fret bars are surprisingly rough... this seems like a quality control issue. Ukuleles much less expensive than this one get this right. The tonation is good. It's not as loud as some ukes I have, so I'd call it "medium." Overall, the weight is very light. I don't know what had to give to make it this light. Overall, this probably is more ukulele than a beginner needs, but if it is for a player, they will appreciate the overall look, and sound. It certainly adds to my uke collection. ... show more

  • Par but pricey compared to others
Color: Natural Style: Soprano
The media could not be loaded. I have around 2 dozen ukuleles, most from Chinese companies thanks to the Vine program. What I've come to realize is you pay a premium, around 2 to 3 times as much JUST for the name of the instrument to NOT be a Chinese company. However the instrument will say "made in China" and the quality will be around the same as the better Chinese brands that sell for much less. So food for thought when looking at what ukulele will be best for you and what is within your budget. This one is not better than some of the Chinese ukuleles I've received, but it is far better than other ones I've gotten. Also note: For Vine all that was available to me was the soprano size. I personally prefer a larger instrument. I find that sopranos are often more comfortable for kids. Concerts for adults. And tenors with adults with large/thick hands. You'll want an instrument that is comfortable for you to play. As for this instrument, right off the bat it lacks flare. Yes, it appears solid top. And the back and sides are a spalted maple veneer from what I can tell. But it looks simple and just doesn't have a large presence, but that's okay. I can feel the third and fourth fret catching just a little as I run my hand down the neck, but not so much I'm going to get out my file and deal with it. The tuning was a little more difficult than some as the strings wanted to jump from under to over tuned... the fine tuning was a bit difficult. The tuning pegs are also plastic, not metal as some of my other ones are. It doesn't have any strap buttons. I've installed strap buttons before so that's not a big deal to me, but if this was for a beginner then I'd suggest going for one that has 2 strap buttons as many find it easier to play with a strap for support rather than just hugging the uke with your forearm. As you'll see in the video, I have difficulties playing correctly because I'm trying to without a strap and I'm just not used to it. In the picture you'll see how the details are not perfect. The edging is not connected as it should be. Granted people aren't going to be seeing that part of your uke, but if they are going to charge this price then they should take the time to do the details correctly! At this point, after looking the instrument over, I'm not impressed. It's totally just par. I'd give it a 4 barely for how it compares to other brands and instruments I have. However I'd give it a 3 as it's so much more expensive than most of the rest... at least the Chinese company ones. But then I went to play it. Here is where it redeems itself. It has such a sweet sound. Really pretty and tranquil. It's not super loud, but if you are only playing for yourself or your family then it's ample enough. I also found it easy to play, except that it is lacking the strap (at this point). So I'm giving it 4 stars. It's on par with most of the better ukes I have, but not as good as the best ones. The price however reflects that you are buying from a non-Chinese brand, and does not reflect the actual quality. I'm happy with it. ... show more
