Live in Las Vegas where there's lots of calcium deposits and debris from the hard water here. When summer comes around, regardless if my pool's water chemistry is balanced, there's still these pesky white flakes floating around. When my pump is off, the white flakes settle to the bottom of the pool. I've used a pool robot to clean the bottom, but the flakes would scatter whenever the robot came too close due to the water currents so the robot wasn't that effective although it did pick up dirt, some of the white flakes and leaves. After 1 1/2 years, my robot died and I thought I'd try something new. Well, I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. Yes, it looks like a dust buster from the 1980s, yes, you do need to do some work by "vacuuming" the pool floor, BUT, it's GREAT at picking up those settled white flakes and you can push the vacuum slowly without disturbing the white flakes. The motor is a bit heavy and it can be a little awkward to position the vacuum properly against the walls and in between crevices, BUT it so does the job very efficiently. The first day, I picked up a ton of the white flakes, MULTIPLES of what my robot could do. I was so surprised by the performance and ease that I had to write a review, which I don't do often (but should). The great thing about doing this manually, is that I know that these white flakes aren't clogging up my filters and being recirculated in the pool. I've used this about 4 times and my pool is so much cleaner, free of those pesky white flakes. Some have complained that the pole isn't long enough? Well, they do allow you to put your own pole on the unit so if you have a long pool, then use it. I appreciate that they had an included pole so I don't have to keep switching back and forth the poles. Hoping that this last a few years, but recognize that the motor does such a great job sucking up debris, that the lifespan may depend on how much and what it sucks up.

My 12x24ft above-ground pool, I can get through an entire cleaning session in one go, with power to spare. The suction power remains strong throughout the cleaning process—there’s no noticeable drop-off after 30 or 40 minutes, which is often an issue with cheaper units. Charging takes around 4 hours and 20 minutes in my experience, which is exactly what the seller promises. Very reliable. Dual-stage filtration is one of the main reasons I bought this vacuum. Most budget models use a single-layer filter that either clogs easily or fails to trap fine debris. This unit uses a two-stage system: a 120μm mesh bag for larger debris like leaves and insects, and a 250μm sponge for finer particles like sand, silt, and dust. The result is a noticeably clearer pool. After each use, the water quality is visibly improved. The system performs exceptionally well in environments with lots of falling leaves or windblown dirt—just like my backyard setup. And suction is really strong!I’ve used it to clean areas near the drain where fine sand and dust collect—no problem at all. I already own a robotic pool cleaner, but like most bots, it struggles with stairs, pool edges, and sharp corners. This handheld unit fills in those gaps perfectly. I let the robot handle the main area, then use this device for targeted cleaning. All in all: Pros: True 60-minute battery life Strong suction Excellent dual-filtration system (mesh + sponge) Two heads for flexible cleaning Long, sturdy telescopic pole Easy to assemble and maintain Complements robot vacuums perfectly Only thing is: Doesn’t support picking up floating debris at the water surface.

I have a 21’ round above ground salt water pool. I have an aqua pro 190 2speed pump with a cartridge filter. This vacuum changes the game entirely. I keep a very clean and clear pool and have been used to the traditional vacuum plugged into skimmer and pump for years but was looking for a separate filter system for vacuuming. Robots are too slow and can’t be justified for my above ground. Because I clean daily this vacuum makes my work very short. It has excellent suction and is very easy to clean. Literally less than 5 minutes. My only complaint would be that I am 6’2” and have no decking. The telescopic pole is a bit too short to hit the center of a 21’ round. Fortunately it fits all standard poles sold elsewhere. This is a great unit and i recommend it for above ground pools.
