It's a door knob. It doesn't have a lock on it. When gripping one of the knobs and turning your hand, it twists! And the latch retracts and you can open the door! If you ever need a door knob that doesn't lock--say, to keep angsty teenagers from locking you out their room because you just don't understand them, or for forgetful/early onset dementia parents who you're suddenly taking care of and manage to lock the bathroom door as they exit (leading to wonderful 4am panic-fueled rushes to find a screwdriver to remove the door knob so you can go potty), this is for you! ... show more

It gets the job done! Don't be dissuaded by some of the "bad" reviews. One guy doesn't read the product description (I.e., "passage door," not "entry") so he gives this product a bad rating because it doesn't come with a key? Duh, not the doorknob's fault. Gives "dumb as a doorknob" another meaning :) Also, to the person who says the door knob sticks on doors when opening/closing--you installed it wrong. I did it myself. The "tongue" thingy inside the door is supposed to be installed with the way the door closes--meaning, when you close the door, the top of the triangle thingy should go WITH the door, not against. You installed it upside down! Again, easily fixable and not the door knob's fault. ... show more

This is a great product. For the price point I think some people who gave a negative review are expecting something of the highest quality. There’s a reason they’re the price they are. If you want a higher end product I suggest buying one for $25+ at Lowe’s/HD. I wanted something inexpensive for two closets in my basement and these fit the bill. Too the people who complain about them “locking” that’s a doorknob malfunction not a lock. Maybe you should spend a little more money and not put a cheap lock on your child’s room or another room you are worried about. If money is an issue then at least install it with the screws facing out so you can unscrew it in an emergency if it malfunctions and you need to get in. People kill me lol ... show more

So I took 2 of these to the locksmith. I wanted to match keys. He'd never seen this brand. But when I picked them up, he was like "Hey these are nice". He said they had good quality parts and was easy to work with. Sometimes these off brands put junk hardware in there. But he liked them. So I have to say - good stuff! And they look nice! I received these, and while installing, I questioned if I’d gotten the wrong size screws ... fortunately, they were the right size, It was just the paint on them. What I found to be helpful (for me) was to install the screws into the knobs prior to putting the door knobs together, it took the excessive paint down. I did this with all of mine ... it worked like a charm, and no issues with installation. As others have commented, it is a bit tight with the screwdriver, you’ll definitely scratch the knob if you get a bit aggressive with them. Just cover the knob with a soft cloth and you’ll save yourself some frustration 👍🏼 I was über frustrated at first and was going to send them back but fortunately (for me), the prior paint removal and soft cloth solved my dilemma. Hoping this might help 👍🏼😊 They’re quite nice for the price (I’d paid $11.99 on July 29, 2020 ... received on August 6th) but I did notice the price virtually doubled the day I received them😜 I’m grateful I ordered all of them when I did, not sure I’d pay the $24 for just one of these ... just my opinion. Slowly updating our home built in 1952. Remodeled our bathroom and purchased this knob to match our new fixtures. After Hubby figured out how to get the original (yes, from 1952!) knob off the door, installed this Copper Creek knob and WOW! This is a well made product, looks absolutely stunning, took about 2 minutes to install, and works fantastic...the door actually closes now instead of having to push it shut for it to latch. Such a great looking, quality product, we ordered another privacy lock and 4 passage locks just like it to replace all the bedroom knobs, closet, and stairway door. Highly recommend this product. Update 6/27/18: Rec'd my additional locks...all are top quality and look great. Also purchased Cosmas Satin Nickel Door Hinge 3.5" Inch x 3.5" Inch with Square Corners - 18 Pack to replace old hinges on the doors. They lined up perfectly with old screw holes and perfectly match the Copper Creek door knobs. Highly recommend both items if you're updating your home. ... show more

A nice quality door knob. Many of the negative reviews do not seem to be from knowledgeable people. There is a right way and wrong way to install door knobs as well as making sure you have the correct kind. This door knob finish is a quality one, I do not see it wavering. Install was simple, took about 5 minutes to replace an existing one. This is the best value for your money and is a better quality knob than those in this price range available from the retail stores. It features a quarter turn for ease of opening and closes on its own better than most knobs I have used. Some will not like the quarter turn as it can feel as if there is not much there. Yea it is very good door knob for the price and I used them to redo all the doors in my house. Except The three bathrooms where I used the privacy one. They went in great I have no idea how you would get one to lock as it says in the one review. But I’m going to keep an Eye on them anyway.
