  • Works great!
Size: 9,000 BTU 230V
Works great! I got a vacuum pump from the auto parts store, and a vacuum T-valve from Amazon, I ended up ordering a 25 foot line set instead of the original 16 foot, after my calculations, I was only gonna be short, like half an ounce of refrigerant, which to me was nothing and the system still runs great. It does a great job of heating and cooling. ... show more

  • Overall, a good unit
Size: 18,000 BTU 230V
Overall, a good unit and arrived as described on a pallet. The unit could be improved if the outdoor unit wiring cover was separated from the wires in order to make installation and servicing more accessible. The grates on side and backside of the unit are minimal and could be improved for better protection. PVC drain piping was installed vs. the drain piping provided and preferred to insulate as well to avoid condensation. I also purchased additional insulation for some specific locations. See photos Would be helpful if they offered separate options for each of the following: 1. Wall Mount Brackets or Stationery Pad 2. Smart Wi-Fi wired thermostat or non-Wi-fi thermostat, had to purchase a Wi-fi unit to be able to access and monitor from a phone. Hard to find, found on eBay. Don't need the non-Wi-fi unit. 3. Metal or Plastic Line Set Covers. I chose to go with metal covers from Eagle as the unit is located next to my existing main unit and would have a more uniform appearance. • A fantastic product.
Size: 18,000 BTU 230V
This unit is just what I needed. . The only noise you hear is a slight hum when you turn it on for the water to pump out and after that it is very quiet. It is very efficient and keeps the area evenly cooled. I have not used it for heat. The install was fairly easy but I did have a professional installer help me. Everything was included that we needed for installation. I would highly recommended this unit. ... show more

  • Works Great
Size: 9,000 BTU 230V
Out of the 12 Mini Splits I own from many different brands, this is the best performer. Cooper & Hunter will be my choice going forward. It is not WiFi enabled. Added a Cielo Breeze Lite and that works well with this unit. The unit is in a storage building. The contents must be kept cool. Outdoor temperature is presently 110 F. Indoor temperature is 65 F. Again, I am very pleased. ... show more

  • Unless you have to, avoid the ceiling cassette!
Size: 18,000 BTU 230V
I chose the ceilling cassette because I'm removing my house central air system, and this is a great thing to put in place of one the main return ducts, or so I thought. First off, I have three C&H mini-split systems. The first one didn't come with a wifi dongle. A year later I ordered a second unit, this time a wifi adapter was included. The third one (18k unit) also came with one. The description also states it's wifi "ready". The Cooper and Hunter manuals also stated this for every unit I've purchased. When the description says "Works with Alexa" I assumed surely for the price it comes with it. Plus it doesn't state you will need to purchase something extra. Here comes the kicker. After trying to determine what I need for wifi (I called them and they did pick up quickly!). However, they showed me what I need to buy. On their website it shows the wifi thermostat is $139! The thermostat I received with my unit shows it costs $149! It's also important to mention the thermostat shown in the picture for the cassette is not the black version. So now I'm in for almost $2000 to get the cassette (1" drain hose and wifi). The 18k wall minisplit unit is $900. Would I have paid double knowing the heat pump is bigger (requires more amperage) as well as a better wall bracket? No. I ordered the ceiling cassette which the description leads you to believe it comes with wifi (Especially for the price). This is the second 18k unit I have (I have 2-12k and 1-18k wall unit as well). This heat pump is almost twice the size and weight! I kept checking to make sure it was correct (it was). Why the bigger heat pump outside? BTUs are BTUs. The installation was slow going at best. The brackets you have to install will have to be supported differently based on the house. It required some thought. The mounting hanger bolts are a joke. They're for concrete. What residential house has concrete ceilings? The drain hose was frustrating. The drain outlet is a 1" inside diameter hose, yet the drain hose they provided does not connect up to it. You should buy a 1" ID hose to run the length of the drain path. It cost me an extra $65. There wasn't any really good adapters so I had to purchase 50' of drain hose (my lineset distance is 50ft). The other disappointment is with the swing feature. The motor moves the blades only a portion. Manually I can move it much much further. I checked for anything that we binding it or hindering it but couldn't find anything. I even removed the panel and let it run without any hardware possibly causing the limited swinging of the blades. It worked the same. It's worth mentioning the unit without the wall thermostat is nearly useless. I didn't want to run the wires for it, and figured I would use the led display on the panel to see what the temp is set to. Wrong! Only the function LEDs work. While you can use just the remote to set it, While Cooper and Hunter units have been impressive with their performance, their delivery/options are lacking. The ceilling cassette while on paper it's impressive, it lacks behind the cheaper minisplit wall unit. Lastly, the performance. I would say it's ok. It's working good but without the blades swinging, it's limiting the air movement. I've set the temperature to 71F and while my IR thermometer reads 68F near the thermostat. I'm not sure what's going on with that. The fan never really seems to adjust like my wall units. All in all, I never write reviews, but their ceiling cassette 18k system was so disappointing that I felt I needed to write this! This will be my first and last ceiling cassette. ... show more
