Below are my pro's and a list of "notes". I do not believe this chair has any real "cons" based on the manufacturer's advertisement. Keep in mind that while a decent built chair above the rest, this is still very much riding the hot gaming chair trend. Pro's: - The material looks and feels as good as the pictures. - Solid build quality - Decent assembly. More on that below. - The seat folds way back and I didn't feel as if I'd fall over. - The pillows are solid build quality. - The hidden slides for the back pillow is a nice feature - The wheels are large and feel well made. Notes: - This is not a chair for kids or shorter people, or petite bodies. Don't buy it if so. I made that mistake since I bought it as a combo gift for me and my daughter. - The opening in the chair back is plastic. Please keep this in mind. It is in an absolutely horrible location if you are short. Not quite sure why it's there to begin with. I'm 6' and my head doesn't touch it or bother me. However, my daughter is a foot smaller and right in line with her head. So, the head rest must be used for comfort in that regard. - The chair is massive. I bought it for the added quality increase from the next tier down, but kinda regret that. But don't get me wrong, it VERY solid. I'm 6', 160lbs and I do not fill it out. - The arm rests are hard. They'll last forever because I think they're made out of rubber mallets. - The rocking dial will need to be crancked way out to accomplish a decent give. - The head rest is very thick. Maybe even too thick. It cause my neck to hurt sometimes. As a wrap up, the chair is solid and came as advertised. Quality is supreme. However, it is huge. Do not buy if you have a small figure. This is the second Caliber X1 I bought because the first one was so great. I was thrilled it was still available, so I bought the second one. The box showed up with some issues, which is fine because it's a 65 lb chair, and you expect that weight will cause some crushed corners. Put it together, just fine. As soon as I used it, the plastic piece that controls the vertical lift broke. When I looked at it, it appears to have been cracked even further than where it broke. I've sent a request to the company for some resolution, and now its been almost 2 weeks with no answer. AMAZON cannot help me unless I want to disassemble the whole thing and rebox it for a return. So now my options are to disassemble and return the whole chair, or live with a chair that is inoperable.... all for a cheap plastic piece that I would buy on my own if someone would just give me some support. ... show more

I bought this chair after researching many different chairs. I originally wanted the Secret Lab chair but found that this chair is very similar and you don't have to order it and wait 8 weeks to get it. I could tell by the smell that the synthetic material is of the higher quality much like I've smelt in Lexus NuLuxe. Also, the armrests are 4 way adjustable much like the higher end office chairs out there. My only complaint is that the padding is hard but this may be on purpose because over time this will soften. I have bought chairs in the past that were soft in the beginning only to become flattened out after 2 years for use. Also, the armrest are hard for my taste but the simple fix was to add the gel arm rest covers. The chair sits high off the ground so this may cause your legs to dangle not sure why the chair doesn't go lower. I solved this by buying a foam footrest which I've never used before but is really helpful since I sit at the desk for 8 hrs plus. I lean to one side so the sports car seating type bolstering really helps for support and the adjustable lumbar is good. Best feature is the seat back that leans back to a lay down position, with the addition of the pillow this is very comfortable, especially for those long conference calls. I have used Herman Miller in the office and never like them not sure that spending 400 more for an office chair would get me that much more comfort. This chair could be one of those hidden gems only time will tell. ... show more

    • Comfy if it doesn't break

Ordered this in November of 2020. Have been using it only for what it was meant for and havent sat or laid back in it incorrectly. About a month of owning it and a gear inside the mechanism that leans back has basically been stripped. I am 6'1 and weigh about 230 pounds so I fall well within the weight recommendations, but the edges of the gears that allow the chair to lean back has been stripped resulting in me being able to put very little pressure on the back of the chair and having it lean back no matter what I do. I have submitted a support ticket to cooler master website because I can't request an RMA as the chair does not allow me to select problems with it which I need to do to fill out an RMA. Also they have responded once after 2 weeks of putting in my first support ticket and have yet to respond since I gave them a video of the problem. The chair was comfortable while it worked but their customer service has been abysmal in trying to get a replacement part or chair. So for now I cannot recommend this chair to anyone. ... show more
