First of all, I was very impressed that such a large pan arrived so well packed and in pristine condition! Here are some other reasons why I am so happy with this purchase: 1. All of my cookware is Tramontina 18/10 Stainless Steel Tri-Ply Clad, and I love them, but they do not make a stainless steel clad wok. The Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-inch Wok looks very similar to the Tramontina line. So displaying it in my kitchen with the rest of my cookware will work out great. I just need to find a space for it, as it is quiet large with the lid. So excited! 2. Due to a wok's outside diameter, I cannot fit one on my smaller burners on the back of my Kenmore glass top stove, as it will hit the back where the controls are. The only way I can use a wok/wok-like pan on my stove, is to get one that has a base diameter that will fit one of my front burners. The smallest burner on the front of my stove is 8 1/2" (my stove manual says I cannot use a pan that is more than one inch larger or smaller than that). Every wok I've found has too small of a base diameter to fit on my front burner (5 1/2-6 1/2" - Calphalon, All-Clad, etc.). The Cooks Standard Multi-Ply Clad Stainless-Steel 13-inch Wok was the ONLY stainless steel clad wok that would work, as the part that actually touches the stove is exactly 7 1/2", then it gradually curves out from there. 3. I am also very impressed with the depth of this wok! It can hold a lot of food! The height of the pan, measuring vertically down from the top side of the rim to the stove surface, is 3 and 7/8 inches. 4. The pan is very well balanced, has a nicely shaped handle, and a wonderful helper handle! 5. And lastly, which I think is the most impressive about this wok, is the beautiful domed cover! What a showpiece, as well as a functional pan that is fun to cook in! The mirror finish on the cover, a well as the pan is just gorgeous! UPDATE (12/13/2013)! I have now purchased two of the steamers that are meant to fit on this pan (I stack them)! They are HUGE and hold a lot of food!! See "Cooks Standard NC-00247 Steamer Insert for Chef's Pan, 13-Inch/32cm." I purchased them when the price was $20.99 each, plus shipping. Previous to that, they were around $17-18.00. Now they are $30.00 each, plus shipping. Get them before they go any higher!! These will only add to the many things that you can do with these pans!! P.S. I really love cooking with this pan!! I just store the steamers on top of this pan on my shelf in my kitchen - the steamers fit perfectly on the pan, and the lid fits perfectly on the steamers! Makes a great set (and a great conversation piece too)!

This is a beautiful piece of cookware. It is so great that I can not say anything down about it. It cleans up well even after frying chicken, and the size is perfect for a one person, or whole family meal. Get some Bar Tenders Friend to keep the finish perfect, and you have a winning combination. You will also like to get with this WOK the Chef's 13 inch Standard Steamer Insert. This is the perfect combination. You can then steam or stir-fry your way into some wonderful meals. This WOK works well as a soup pot too. I use it on a glass top electric cook stove, or on a gas stove. The heat distribution is excellent. The included good sized dome lid is something you really need, and many other offerings here on Amazon do not have the included lid. Do not hesitate to give this wonderful cookware a try. The seller, which in my purchase was not Amazon Prime, but another Amazon seller that offered free shipping before this item was offered with Prime, was very attentive and wanted to make sure I was very happy. Also, it was cheaper than the Prime price. I really like it.

Been using this wok for a few weeks now and I think it is absolutely amazing. I have been looking for a multi-tasker cookware that could take the abuse of my cooking style; I'm from Taiwan and I embraced the philosophy of cooking with extremely high heat. I like to cook with high heat that sear the outside of any ingredient initially then I can reduce the heat to cook it always the way through, this is not limited to only protein, more importantly for veggi too, that way veggi does not loose it's "crisp" and that's the secret to a good stir fry. However, the stove top in the States produces such a low heat that it will require me to leave the cook ware on the stove for a longer time to get to the desire heat. This will destroy most cook ware that's coated or ceramic. This wok does the job flawlessly, I was able to cook Steaks, stir fry, deep fry, and make soup all with this one wok. I was also surprised how my food does not really stick to the bottom of the pan while I was cooking, the first meal I made with this wok is a new York steak, and after heating the wok for a few min on high and place the steak down to sear for a quick min with minimum olive oil coated on the steak, when I flip the steak, it came off the wok easily and the wok looks no different than a coated or ceramic pan. The wok is also super easy to clean, after I finish cooking, all I do is pour some water in the hot pan and let the water dissolve whatever is sticked to the bottom of the pan, kind of like deglazing a pan. I am so pleased with this wok I end up buying another sauce pan. The reason I took one star off is because it is very heavy. For a wok, I'm use to light weight and thin construct, but this one is very heavy.
