Purchased for home brewing hobby interests and how could I go wrong? The price is right, the size is right, and I am happy with the purchase of this product. This kettle will serve very well as my mash tun. Nice construction with a secure fitting lid. I ordered this kettle without pre-drilled holes so that I might use this kettle as a mash bag cooker. Meaning that a mash bag will be placed in kettle on top of false bottom with water and grains being added to bag. I did not drill a thermometer hole in side of kettle as thermometer stem will only rip the mash bag open and creating a mess and a stuck drain. Construction of this kettle shows no problems. Everything is tight. The bottom of kettle should be no problem as most mashing is heated to less then 200 degrees F. Package was received with great speed in damaged box but product was unharmed. This is a nice kettle that should last years. Recommended for the home brewer. ... show more

For large steaming this pot is outstanding. Great for outdoors or on the stove. Distributes Heat all through the pot. Great for Lobster, Crab Legs Just great for your large items. Totally recommend this pot. Totally 5 stars

    • Withstood the Heat
I had seen reviews where the pot warped when heated. I've used it once. I didn't get to boiling. I was around 190 degrees for a few hours. The pot performed as expected and I had no problems.

Just delivered and first thing i notice opening the box is two holes drilled in the side! I am guessing they were for another model that you bolt a dispenser to or something like that, but if something was supposed to be bolted there it wasnt included. Also, theres 3 pictures with the description and none of them show any holes. ... show more

The kettle is heavy and well made. I added a 1/2" ball valve by drilling using a step bit. I will be brewing beer using a brew bag in the next week or so. Definitely much heavier gauge than my previous 5 gallon kettle I have been using.

This pot is very well made. It is heavy. I plan to use it for steaming fabric that I am eco-printing with leaves, and other natural dyes.
