This is referring specifically to the Gooidea Bunny Garden and Bamboo House block sets, with blocks that are 1 inch cubes. My kids love these blocks, and I think they're excellent as well, so here are all the Pros: - A gift from Christmas that the kids play with every single day. - It's about more than just building. Hard to explain, but these blocks are so versatile that they are something more than just magnetic building blocks. The kids are always inventing new ways to play with these blocks. - 1 inch is the perfect size (my opinion). Imagine having to pick these up at the end of the day. Or avoid stepping on them. Or losing them. If they were any smaller (like the .8 inch ones), that might be a problem. We have a set of slightly larger magnetic blocks as well, and they just aren't played with as often. - The colors of these blocks were the most vivid, and the designs the most beautiful and detailed compared to every other set I've tried across five different brands. - Lots of variety within each set and they work perfectly together. - The concept behind each set is really creative (a lot of other sets seem to be cashing in on specific movies, TV shows, or video games, and if these are also, the reference is lost on me). - The corners and edges are ever-so-subtly rounded off, which makes them so much nicer to handle. - At first glance these two sets seemed more geared toward girls (my opinion), but in person they are truly neutral and could be given to a boy as a gift as well. - Certain other block sets I've tried have visible seams that you could stick your fingernail into and pry apart. The blocks contain very tiny magnets and if you have little kids, that's not the best combination. The Gooidea blocks are, to my observation, seamless. - The price is right and I've always purchased these at a discount. You could get about 100 of them for $20 or even less if you wait for a sale. 200 of these would be a perfect amount for a young child. If you have a large designated play area at home and multiple children, it would be tempting to get hundreds upon hundreds of these just so the kids could really go crazy with building. But really, 200 is a good amount and allows for lots of possibilities. I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. It's now about 3 months past Christmas, and we haven't had a single broken block despite pretty intense play every single day. They're the best, and it's actually hard to imagine how they could be improved upon.
