Description
There’s only one Original Slinky Brand Generations of children and adults have loved playing with Slinky. This classic metal spring toy walks downstairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slink-ity sound. First invented by mechanical engineer Richard James in 1943 during an experiment with tension coils. James accidentally dropped a spring on the floor and watched as it began to “walk.” Two years later, he introduced his walking spring toy in Gimbels Department Store, and the Slinky immediately sold out. Since its debut, over 300 million Slinkys have been sold worldwide. In 2000, this classic toy was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame. Slinky is fun for a girl or a boy ages 5 and up. Everyone loves a Slinky.

Just like I remember from when I was a kid. I bought this as a gift for my nephew as he heard about them but never had one, and it was just what I was looking for! This slinky is great quality, has a good weight to it, and provides endless fun! Even if you don't have a staircase, you can put it down a hill or even build up a cardboard staircase or use some books to watch it slink down! Love it!

Everyone knows how great a slinky is but the original is honestly the BEST! My son fidgets around with everything and usually doesn't end well so I bought this to keep his hands busy. Worked like a charm! For now. Lol. In my opinion, keep to the original, don't bother with the plastic versions.

I chose this slinky because of the material it is made from. The metal does not corrode in the weather and the metal is durable. Ok, I don't use these as a toy, I use them on my bird feeders. My feeders are on a post stuck into the ground. I hang the slinky over the pole. This prevents squirrels from climbing the pole and raiding my bird feeder. This works well and the slinky holds up in all weather.

I ordered this for my 12 year old. After a few minutes of playing it broke and got bent. I ordered a replacement and it’s been working fine with normal play. The metal is much better than the plastic!

It's a Slinky... What else is there to know? It's perfectly great as a slinky toy. I like that it's metal like the ones I played with when I was a little girl. I gave it 5 Stars all the way for its "intended purpose" as a toy. What I'm about to say has no bearing on my review but I thought I'd share a little added info about the Slinky's alternative use as a critter / squirrel deterrent since I thought there may be others who have decided to purchase a Slinky for that same reason I did. Let me just say it was a TOTAL FAILURE and total waste of money as a squirrel deterrent and I'm glad I put out only one of the two Slinkies I bought. Don't waste your money if you are expecting to use it to keep the squirrels away from your bird feeder. Mine worked the first day. In fact, I took pleasure witnessing a squirrel trying to climb up my feeder pole and he immediately took that elevator ride straight down to the ground floor and ran away. I thought to myself, "Yay, this is going to work!!". :-D HOWEVER, it did not take long for the squirrels to stop being afraid of it and they started climbing it anyway. Also, I'm not so sure that raccoons weren't climbing up the pole at night because the Slinky became extremely stretched out so much so I think something really heavy was climbing. Either way, it was destroyed in less than a week. : '-( I haven't removed it yet and the squirrels just ignore it and climb straight up the pole and hang upside down on my "squirrel proof" bird feeder for their daily buffet. So to summarize.... it works great for its intended purpose as a toy but a total failure as a critter deterrent at the bird feeder. I gave 5 STARS for being a toy!
