I injured my back and was trying to work remotely while injured. One of the biggest struggles was icing my back while sitting upright. Sitting upright was hard enough but then to try to get an icepack to sit in right where my back started to arch was nearly impossible. I found this product on Amazon and I thought it's worth a try. It's been amazing!!!!! I can not only sit with it in the perfect spot, I can walk around, make dinner, and lay down, all while icing the exact spot on my back. Then a few days ago, my ankle was hurting. I grabbed this out of the freezer and wrapped it around my ankle. Same thing. I was as mobile as my injured ankle would allow because the ice pack was secured. This is well worth the investment. The ice pack itself is removable so it can be wiped off. This is a great neoprene type belt that fastens with strong Velcro. The ice packets are vinyl and thick so zero leakage. You just insert the frozen packet into the netting, slide the Velcro closed then wrap it around wherever you use it and secure with another Velcro tab. Very comfy to wear and lean against. Size: XL Style: Large Body Ice Pack
Pro's: Well thought out. Very Easy to use. Comfortable. Best alternative I've found so far (with a suggestion) Size is adequate. Wouldn't mind it being larger, though. Con's: The pack is pretty thin so there's not much too it. So the cold doens't last very long - maybe 15-20 minutes. You don't get much compression with the straps that come with the pack. So if you want to walk around with it on, you won't feel the cold as well as if you're lying on it. I have an inexpensive lightweight elastic and velcro back brace that I wear over this and together, it's a winner. It compresses the pack against the back so you can be up and around and really feel the cold. If you're really hurting, you should probably be lying down anyway - but just my experience. Still, I would recommend this. It's the best I have found to help with chronic intermittent low back pain when it flares up.. ... show more

I was/am suffering from lower back spasms… BAD.. And I needed something to keep cold on my back without having to lay on it. This did exactly that. The waist band is relatively large which at first was a concern for me because I’m overweight. But this fit with room to spare! Cold pack lasts for an hour or more. Can’t speak for heat as I’ve never used it for that purpose. It fits well, cold pack is easily removable from the belt to freeze and just as easy to put back.
