I just launched a new online business selling handmade jewelry. For branding purposes I need my packages to look professional from the first impression, so taping a paper shipping label on the box wasn’t my first choice. This printer has solved that problem, at an affordable price. The printer arrived well protected, with a bag to protect it in case of bad weather during shipping. The Colorwing comes with everything necessary to connect and use it, even the cords for both Mac and PC. In addition to hard wiring it to a computer, it has both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. There is a website to visit where videos are available to assist in setup, and they came in handy as I wasn’t quite sure of the steps from the instructions included in the box. A small roll of 4”x6” shipping labels comes with the Colorwing, which was perfect for my immediate needs. There are user-friendly apps available for Windows, Mac OS, Android and Apple iOS. I tested the Windows app…then I received my first two orders before I could test the iOS with Bluetooth. This gave me the opportunity to use it for the real shipping labels downloaded from my shipping partner. Both Windows and iOS apps are wonderfully simple and fast to print from! My labels came out clear and clean, and the adhesive seems to be strong so I won’t have to worry about them coming detached. I love that it’s an ink-less system. All I have to keep stock in is the labels. The printer can also use decorative labels and plain labels of various sizes. The versatility means I can print my logo on stickers for decorative touches on my packaging, create custom address labels, and probably other uses I haven’t thought of yet. The pink color is unusual for a business printer, admittedly an odd choice by the manufacturer, but it’s not as intense as the product listing photos make it appear. It’s definitely a paler pink. Labels of various shapes and colors are available in the Colorwing store on Amazon as well as their separate website. I plan on investing in a variety of these as my business grows, because this printer is clearly going to be crucial to my shipping and branding station. Overall I’m quite happy to have this tool at my disposal for my new business.

I noticed this thermal printer had some good reviews so I thought I’d jump on it and try it out. I will say, for the $159.99 price tag, that does drop the rating a bit, as I’ve seen other that look exactly like this one with the same exact product page for $50.00 less, BUT, I didn’t see and couldn’t verify that those other printers would take so many varying sizes of labels. Print the labels is easy, however I’ll say that it’s the Labelife app that makes it so seamless. For the printer is just a send and print system, theres not any settings to on the printer itself other than the guides to fit snug against the paper roll to make sure it’s center and runs straight through the printer. For testing, we’ve used the 4x6 labels as well as some 2 inch round labels and both came out fast and well printed. I have yet to connect this to my iMac, we are currently using the Bluetooth option from our smart phones and it connects super fast and easy. No complaints there. The one thing, and maybe it’s really nothing, but to load you have to waste a label each time you change out the labels, UNLESS you leave some used paper attached. Reason being is you have to align the paper as close as you can, close the lid, than press the alignment/feed button, this sets the first sticker, but there has to be some paper ahead of that first sticker for the pressure roller to grab ahold of to feed it through, which the pressure roller sits in front of the print head. I did try to remove the spent unprinted sticker to an open spot where I’d already removed another stick to see if I could still use it, however the printer didn’t seem to like it. Somehow it knew I was trying to reuse a stick and just kept beeping at me no matter how many times I tried. The printer is a bit larger than I’d expected, but that’s not the fault of the manufacturer. The top opens up easy and closes easy. It does come with some other attachments, but I can’t find what they are for or where they would go. The printer is working fine without them. The power supply is not built into this system, which is probably a good thing or the printer would be even bigger. The power supply is built in into the power cord, so it’s got a built box in between the wall outlet and the printer, much like you get with a laptop. It also required a 3 pole outlet, so if you use an extension cord, a 2 pole outlet won’t work. This printer our 4x6 and the 2 inch round labels like a champ. Definitely a good printer.

I bought this to print barcodes for my inventory The software can’t accept - or space to make the barcode. Also the prints are not scannable the software is just garbage. Sending this crap back.
