His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark. In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

  • Perfect enclosure for a 10' diameter (30" depth) relax pool
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
So you'll see this review for the other products I purchased to add this little piece of paradise to my backyard. I have just retired from the military, and of course I started doing all the work around the house that I never had the time or energy for. When I saw I had a patch of yard room enough to put something, I found this 10' diameter Intex pool. It came well packaged, was a typical pain in the rear to put together (I don't read instructions until after the fact.../flex). Overall, it went together nicely. Filled it up, got the pump working (the pump is subpar...it'll work for now but I will upgrade sooner rather than later). I got the 10' Intex solar cover (solar - ha, funny...blue bubble wrap is solar now?) and it fits well. It helped keep the leaves and twigs out. If he adds some warmth to the water, I don't know. I live in central Texas. It's going to be warm regardless. So the pool is great. 30" deep, perfect for just sitting. I had a small camping table I put next to it. I got an HB Illumination speaker to pair to my phone. It's meant to float but the sound sucks when it's in the water. I added the Coleman 15x13 screened tent canopy a few days later. It fits perfectly. Enough room to cover the camping table and pump as well as enclose the little step stool ladder I have. The Coleman tent is easy to assemble - but MAKE SURE THE POLES ARE ON THE OUTSIDE! I read that review earlier and brain dumped it. Then I was cursing the existence of humanity when I got to the last pole and couldn't get it to snap into place. Yea - poles on the outside, poles on the outside...poles on the outside. It has two zipper entrances and like I said - it covers the pool perfectly. Keeps the bugs out. Get a camping LED light/lantern that emits the yellow/bug blind light and you're set to spend your warm summer evenings sitting in a pool, listening to crickets and frogs (or in my city case - traffic), and just relax the stress away. So unless I modify this review - I strongly suggest anyone considering this pool and/or the Coleman screen tent to buy. Good purchases. Addendum: For the Coleman, it comes with the small metal stakes. These will be fine if you are a setup/teardown user (ie camping, weekend use). For me, these would only fit the holes in the pole bases...but each pole base also had a fabric loop. I bought some glow in the dark tent stakes for these fabric loops to add more stability as I don't intend to take this down unless I move the pool. It does come with ropes on each pole so you can stake those in for even more stability, but I am foregoing that for now. If I need to use them I'll update to report how it goes. ... show more

  • I agree this screen room rocks.. super easy to assemble
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
Very nice size I am 5ft 6 in tall and I have to tip toe with my arm completely stretched to reach the middle interior ceiling I would say it is 9 ft center, or close to it. I also am able to stand up without bending over all the way to each side.. anyway I did a video that I will post if can.. this was really easy to put up and enough room for anything, add tarps on outside with d rings or hiking clips and a large tarp if you want added rain protection zippers are nice metal and there is a toggle at the doors to hold them open.. I think for 69.00 it is a great canopy and with tax will be 74.00 and if u take care of it will last I plan to put a tarp floor and I am glad it doesn't have a floor as I think it would be a pia to try to shake the sand out as I plan to use this mostly at the beach and will carry it in the back of my volvo when I go to my sister's house or sons house for a quick shelter... I will try a playpen for my two small dogs I think will work great.. and like the space for keeping all my towels and clothing and chairs and food etc inside ... This I think is made well and if taken care of will last ... I will spray it with coating and think a gallon of water tied to the tie downs will be enough for me. I put it up by myself I am 62 and it was a hot day here in Florida I think 85 maybe hotter.. I used a bungee cord once I got it down and wrapped to keep it together while I placed it back into the bag which fit perfectly sideways across the back of my 940 volvo wagon... I will update this review if for any reason it fails.. I also have a large bright green and white striped umbrella and other accessories that will coordinate with the nice colors of this. This will make it very hard for a thief to just reach over and steal something... Very excited to have this I have wanted something just like it for a long time... I can put all the fishing gear in here as well... tons of use... i am trying to add a video of the tent, it is big and roomy.. i should have pointed out the two zipped openings.. as they are nice with a toggle strap to hold them open. also, this week going to the beach with my sister and we are planning on wednesday and setting up the canopy so i can add some photos if the video isn't that great.. there is also a tie on each of the sections to tie it down if you want to but you don't have to.. i would if there is a wind.. stakes are normal size steaks so best to get beach stakes if i am using it at the beach. also, i am using a few tarps to provide some serious shade and rain protection using the hiking clips etc.. to attach the tarp grommets to the outside.. cant wait to use it.. will update with photos.. ... show more

  • As much as I love the swing
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
I jokingly tell my friends that I got a new summer home this year. I actually purchased this screen shelter to put over my Mother's Day present of a gliding porch swing. As much as I love the swing, I knew I would not use it a lot if I had to be exposed to the bugs that are so prevalent in our wooded Maine property. So this shelter goes right over my large 3-person swing (and it even has its own awning) and allows for a couple of other smaller chairs, if necessary. Due to the slanted sides, there is not a lot of headroom, so usable space is rather low to the ground. There is NO floor, so don't expect that - I didn't as I read the specs carefully, along with viewing the pics and video. It truly does asemble in minutes. I offered to help, but my husband had it up before I even got outside. It's light enough to tip to mow under the edges and so far, I've not had it blow away, although we have had some pretty powerful thunderstorms lately. It provides some shade and water protection at the top, but don't expect things to stay dry - they won't. If the rain is gentle and coming straight down, it provides adequate protection, but any blowing or strong rain will come right in. I just keep a small tarp around to cover my swing cushions and pillows so I don't have to wait for them to dry out before using them next. Most importantly, it keeps the biting bugs out, even those nasty black flies we get here in the late spring. Since the bottom is open, I do still get the odd ant, beetle, and other bugs that crawl on the ground, but they don't bite me so I don't mind that much. But if I close up the zipper promptly when entering and exiting, I don't get mosquitoes, flies, or wasps. I plan to keep it up all thru the summer and fall season to enjoy my swing and yard. It's so nice to enjoy the summer weather without the bugs or slathering myself in repellent. One nice feature that could be added would be the ability to zip/unzip from the top and bottom, but that's a small nitpick. LOVE my new summer home! ... show more

  • Great Shaded Spot for Lazy Pups & Happy Campers
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
We picked up the Coleman Skylodge Screened Canopy Tent for our camping trips, mainly to give our lazy greyhounds and chunky corgi a shaded lounge area—and it’s been a hit! The setup is super easy (even solo), and the included carry bag makes packing it up a breeze. The screened sides do a solid job keeping the bugs out, which our dogs definitely appreciate. The greyhounds treat the screen like it’s the Great Wall of China, but our mischievous corgi loves crawling under the edges for a quick romp around the campsite. Only real downside is the stakes. The ones that come with it feel pretty flimsy and bent easily when I tried to push them into tougher ground. I swapped them out for my own heavier-duty ones, and that solved the problem. Overall, it’s a great little camp oasis—especially if you’re bringing along your four-legged friends. ... show more

  • Great setup for seniors! Just what I wanted - quick and easy!
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
This "instant" screened shelter is, as advertised, very quick and easy to set up! (for this one senior, maybe 5 minutes -- a far cry from the many clunky tents I have set up over the years....) I started looking for a patio table umbrella to fit on my 3 x 4 glass top patio table but found this Coleman 15 x 13 Instant Screened Shelter on Amazon Warehouse for $80 and glad I bought this instead of just the umbrella. I also wanted a shelter where the tie down lines did not have to be used because I always invariably trip over them. So I used the supplied metal stakes and then put bricks around the fabric perimeter (as recommended by another reviewer) and it is sturdily in place. Because the tie lines are attached to the exterior and there are enough supplied stakes, they are an option if needed. I staked one side on each door and the zipper goes up and down easily. Inside, you feel like you are setting under a huge umbrella. Yes, this will do quite nicely through our Florida "winter" -- and sure beats using insect repellent! ... show more

  • A wonderful addition to my camping enjoyment.
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
I'm always dubious of any claim that anything can be pitched with just one person. I was heading out for a week of camping in the Hoh Rain Forest in Washington State. Everytime I camp there it rains and it rains hard. I wanted something to cover my kitchen area and somewhere to get out of the rain as I still tent camp. I received this the day before I left on my trip so I didn't have time to practice pitching this. At my campsite I removed the shelter from it's carrying case and even without reading the installation instructions I had it pitched in less than three minutes. Wow! A week later when I took it down I was pretty sure it wouldn't fit back into it's carry bag but I was wrong. It took just a few minutes to break down and it fit easily back into it's carrying bag. Amazing! Originally I thought I had ordered the 10'X10' structure but I received the 15'X13' screen shelter which turned out to be perfect. I'm very happy with my purchase and the construction quality is excellent and should last me many years. I highly recommend the Coleman Screen House. ... show more

  • Easy and works perfectly.
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
This item is great. Setup was simple. Just read the instructions. We had a bad yellow jacket summer (2018). I set this up with a couple of people but can be setup easily by just one person, too. If wind is in the forecast stake it down. I was able to move my Coleman grill on wheels inside along with a 6 foot table and cook all meals. It kept the damn yellow jackets out. We all know they can be quite pesky when cooking outdoors. As for using it to put some chairs in it and enjoy the view or whatever your pleasure is it's wonderful. No flies bugging you or other bugs. Take down was easy. I wasn't in a grassy area so I opened up a tarp large enough to accommodate it and folded it up on there so as not to get dirt and pine needles all over it. Was simple to pack up as to open. Spacious, height is good and not so dark as to ruin views. A+++ ... show more

  • A lot smaller than expected.
Color: Gray Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains Pfas
I researched this screen tent, and thought it would be big enough to go around a standard campground picnic table (8' long and 5' wide including benches). Unfortunately the shape and slope of the sides greatly reduce the usable area of this tent and made for a somewhat frustrating camping experience. Unfortunately the free shipping option from Amazon took ten days to get here, at which point it was too late for us to even try it out, much less return it and look for new one. So we set it up at the campsite and discovered that the picnic table almost poked out the two door ends of the screen tent, and we had to duck under the tent and bend to get into and out of it and around the table. We like to cook with the camp stove on the end of the picnic table, and we had to keep the screen doors open so we could use the ends of the table, thus defeating the purpose of the screen. The tent didn't keep anything dry when it rained either, again because of the sloping walls. All in all, a big disappointment and we'll be trying to sell it and get something better - and rectangular - for next year's camping trip. So, yes, this is well made and easy to put up. Everything is pre-assembled and can be put up by one person in minutes. But it is not a good option for use around a picnic table, and the given dimensions (15'x13') are really misleading! I measured it and the tent is a little less than 10' long from door-to-door at about waist height, and only about 8' long door-to-door at head height. ... show more
