Review: I bought this 10x10 screen house to protect my senior black lab and cat from fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and flies during a 10-day camping trip — and it worked beautifully. Setup & Takedown: Other reviewers mentioned difficulty putting it away, but the seller included detailed pictures and a video. I followed the directions and was able to put it up and take it down by myself with no problem. Quality & Construction: The frame feels sturdy, the mesh is fine enough to keep pests out while still letting air flow, and the zippers are smooth and strong — no snagging. Comfort & Use: At home, I set it up for a week beforehand so the pets could get used to it, and they loved it right away. At camp, I used a tarp and rug underneath, and by day three, I even added a twin mattress for my old lab. My cat was surprisingly polite and didn’t bother it. Even with the mattress, there was room for two chairs and a table, so we could relax inside too. Protection & Weather: Our “boys” didn’t get a single hitchhiker or bite. It rained almost every day, but the screen house held up great. While it’s not waterproof (it’s a screen house), it shed enough rain that I could leave items inside without worry. Bonus: We realized our site was under acorn trees — so this quickly became our favorite hangout, not just the pets’. Final Thoughts: This screen house gets a 10 from us. Easy setup, sturdy construction, roomy, bug-proof, and surprisingly versatile. I 💯 recommend it! Updated: March 2, 2026 We live in Mid Michigan, this screen tent has been up since we returned from our camping trip last summer. To help care for our above mentioned animals. I do have to monitor snow gathering on the top (I check it once a day on snow days, use a broom and push it off from the inside, super simple). Let me just say ZERO snow has entered the tent all winter. A foot and a half stacked up outside the walls, nothing inside. There would be zero damage to the tent had it not been hit with flying debris (a metal flower stand with a pokey head) 🤦🏼♀️ during our worst storm of the winter. I will purchase a screen repair as it’s just a straight 6” tear. I have also purchased the 12 x 12 with sunshades, for our Summer 2026 adventures in northern Michigan!! Update August 2026: Great customer service. I updated my review with my disappointment and their customer service reached out to me with two great options to make things right. I really appreciate a company that stands behind their products! Update July 2026: After 1 season of use & two camping trips this year, the metal joints on the roof poles are starting to wear holes in the top. This is disappointing. Lowering from 5 to 3 stars. Original rating: 5 stars I have only had it a week but have used it multiple days already. Note: I am 5'2" and have never been a tent camper and do not have experience setting up and taking down tents with stakes. 😁 I love that it is light weight; came with 12 stakes; poles, stakes and sand bags all have their own bags to protect the tent & keep things organized. I bought it for an outside bug free place to sit when glamping in my travel trailer but it is now my affordable screened porch for my patio or anywhere I want to sit in serenity at my timbered property. This would be great for sitting at long outdoor sports tournaments; parents wanting to work or play outside but have a little who needs a nap but want to easily check on them and to protect from bugs & sun; family gatherings to get out of the sun & take a break from bugs; food prep area at a campsite; small or old gentle pets who want to be outside but need some boundaries and protection from sun & bugs. I started by setting it up on my patio and used landscaping rocks in the 6 sandbags. It was easy to set up. It stayed in place really well in very light wind. I then flattened it but didn't completely fold it away to move it to the backyard to try it with the stakes. It gets windy in my backyard so I put stakes all around the base and using the rope lines attached to the sides. We enjoyed some bug free evenings in my heavily timbered backyard. Had light wind. Things I really like: 1. Each of the pieces come in sturdy bags to help prevent damage and to keep things tidy. 2. The bag makes it easy to store on a hook or nail in the garage, basement or a closet. 3. Not even the tiny little gnats invaded our space. When we were in the backyard, I could see all the little insects on top but the dogs and I were bug free. 4. The screens do not block the view. 5. If you follow the instructions, everything can go back in the bag. It took me 3 tries the first time I folded it because I didn't understand step 3. 6. I am glad it does not have a bottom for the times I use it on concrete or gravel. 7. The 10'x10' has two doors. Both have heavy double zippers. Tips: 1. Unfold it slowly to see how it folds and practice refolding from the flat panels BEFORE you set it up so you remember. I unfolded it slowly paying close attention but wish I practiced. 2. If like me, you don't already have camping equipment with stakes, a kit with a mallet and stake puller is handy. 3. I used a heavy duty canvas tarp from Harbor Freight underneath. Feels like an outdoor rug but folds small like a tarp. I left my tarp out until I had the screen tent folded so I didn't need to kneel in the grass. 4. If you are setting it up in the wind on your own, putting 1 stake in one of the base locations acts like having another set of hands while you get everything shaped correctly. 5. Make sure you close the zippers before staking everything. I took it down today because of forecasts of high winds and storms. I am not interested in testing it in those conditions. It did keep the heavy dew off the furniture in the morning.

Perfect for MN camping where mosquitoes think they’re the state bird.

Love this screen tent! It was very easy to put up and the perfect size for 2 or 3 chairs and a small table. When folded, it all stores in a nice carrying bag to save space when traveling. We’re glad we decided to put it up and take it down once at home. While it took a couple of tries to get it back to the circular shape for storage, it was more user error than a function of the tent. Each attempt made us realize how well the directions had been made. The drawings are very specific on where and what to fold together. At times you are folding a double edge and at other times you take one edge and leave an edge. The drawings show very clearly the place on the edge or edges being folded. As we realized that, it was not difficult at all to get it refolded and put back into the bag. It is a good quality at a very reasonable price. We couldn’t be happier and look forward to many camping trips enjoying a bug free and sun protected.

My new favorite outdoor space

I bought the brown 10 x 10 EAST OAK screen tent, and I love this thing so much! I use it as an outdoor office on my deck, and it has honestly enhanced my quality of life. It’s also really cute and stylish, which is a bonus because it basically lives on my deck now. I’m actually inside of it right now writing this review. I was a little worried that the 10 x 10 might feel too small, but it really doesn’t. Right now I have a small table, a zero-gravity reclining lawn chair, a Tiger Dad bed desk, and two other chairs inside, and I still have room to walk around. I could easily rearrange things or fit more in here if I wanted to. I think this thing has a lot of potential, and I could see myself using it for many different things. I was able to put it up by myself, the zippers are easy to use, and if I need to shift the whole tent a couple of feet on the deck, I can move it without too much trouble. I am an absolute mosquito magnet, so I’ve never been able to spend much time outside at home unless I cover myself in bug spray. We also have flies, tons and tons of flies. We use fly bags, which help a lot, but there are still plenty of them flying around. Being able to sit inside the screen tent without constantly getting chowed by mosquitoes, swatting at flies, getting consumed by gnat clouds, or dealing with whatever other bug decides to show up has been amazing. Now I can bring my laptop outside, work on school or other projects, eat on the deck, watch the bird feeder, look at the blue sky and fluffy clouds, or whatever floats my boat at the time, and still get things done. Our fire pit is also close enough that I can sit inside the tent and still talk to everyone around the fire, and people can come hang out with me inside too. My family loves it as much as I do. We have several students in our house, including me, and sometimes you just don’t want to sit inside to do homework or work on a project. Apparently my outdoor office has become a popular place to hang out, so I’m actually considering getting another one, maybe even the bigger 12 x 12. I did buy some extra sandbags to help hold it down just in case the weather gets rowdy because of Minnesota’s moods. I filled mine with smooth rocks, and so far we’ve had some light wind and it has stayed put perfectly. I’ve had it for four days and unfortunately noticed this morning that one small pea-sized hole had formed in the screen. It’s not a huge deal to me, and I’m perfectly fine with patching little holes if I need to. If I eventually end up with the polka-dotted screen house of the neighborhood, so be it. I’m giving it four stars because of the hole, but otherwise I haven’t had any issues with it. I seriously love this thing and would absolutely buy it again.

Easy to set up, sturdy, tricky to pack away

This was great for our recent camping trip. It is very easy to set up and when packed up is compact and easy to store and travel with. The screen is very fine so it protects from bugs and morning dew. We had intended to place this over the picnic table at our campsite but the table was ~10 feet long and wouldn't fit inside. Most of the other sites had picnic tables that were smaller, somehow we ended up with an xlarge one, so it would work for future camping trips. It is not intuitive to pack up so please read the instructions and watch a video before you try using it 'in the wild'.

Perfect pop up for camping!

Durable and waterproof. We have been camping one season with the 10’x10’ and love it. It’s a little smaller than we thought, but we can fit 4 camp chairs and our fire pit in it comfortably. Setup is super easy. I’m 5’4” and can get it put up without help. I will say that wrestling it into submission to get it folded into the carrying case is a little harder, but my 6’2” husband has no problems with it. We haven’t been in a high wind situation, but I could see where that might be a challenge. But so far so good. We love it!

Only really good under ideal weather conditions and during the day

If you're looking for a pop up enclosure to keep out flying insects, this is a really good option. The materials and included accessories are all well made, and it is an outstanding value for its designed purpose. It's lightweight, sets up relatively easily and seems to be fairly durable. It is odd to me that it doesn't have a floor. It just has these flaps that extend outward from the bottom of each side. We were camping in a heavily wooded area, and we left it set up overnight. The next day, all kinds of crawling insects made their way inside, because there is no floor. The hook for a light is a nice touch, but it will be a moth magnet if you have to unzip the door and step out at night. That's a challenge with almost all tents, not just this one. We purchased this as a means to give us an outdoor shelter when camping in our teardrop camper. We were hoping it would give us a place to stay dry if the weather was less than cooperative. I know it isn't designed for this purpose, and it did almost nothing to keep out the rain on our first outing with this tent. In our experience, it also did very little to keep critters out either. We were hoping for a relaxing weekend away, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Lots of rain and lots of bugs, and this tent did not help to make our trip any better, unfortunately. It got packed up and sent back. It did get delivered on time, so that's a plus. EDIT 6/30/26: After posting this review, Livia from East Oak reached out to me and expressed her condolences for our camping misfortune. She wanted the opportunity to make it right and offered a few different measures to do so. Ultimately, she ended up sending us an upgraded version of this tent. It is almost identical, but has rollup flaps for the sides and two zippered openings. We can't wait to use this on our next outing, where it will be our multi-function side entry tent. It still doesn't have a floor, but we'll put down a tarp and maybe some weight on the flaps. I've decided to change my rating from 3 to 5 stars because their customer service is phenomenal! They went above and beyond when they clearly didn't have to. I'm definitely considering East Oak for more gear in the future.

Quick take: Love this tent. Keeps the mosquitoes out, makes evenings outside possible in Florida, easy enough to set up once you get the hang of it, holds up in rain and wind with sandbags, and looks great. Not for hot summer months but perfect in cooler weather. Customer service was excellent. Zero regrets on this purchase. This is honestly one of my favorite things I own 😆 I absolutely love this tent. Total game changer for me here in Florida. The main reason I got it was because of the dang mosquitoes!!! This tent though… sweet relief. Miracle. It actually keeps them out if you’re mindful to get in quick and zip it up, then do the same when you leave so no bugs sneak in. I can finally sit outside at dusk which was completely unheard of before. Inside I’ve got my lounge chair and a little table and it feels like my own private getaway. I wouldn’t recommend it in the hot summer months because it gets even hotter inside than outside. But in the cooler months it’s pure paradise. The first time setting it up I had no clue what was happening and it definitely took two people. But after the second or third time it clicked. Now I can do it solo, but if you’ve got another set of hands it’s definitely quicker. A small step ladder helps for the top. Once you know the trick, it pops open in this fun way that feels like a magic trick. Getting it back into the little circle pouch still isn’t my favorite thing… not gonna lie… but it’s doable. It’s handled rain and “windy-ish” weather just fine with the sandbags filled. If a big storm’s coming though, I take it down. One minor thing that bugged me at first was the bottom flaps collecting water, but I poked a couple of tiny holes and now it just drains straight back into the ground. Problem solved. It’s also a really attractive tent, kind of like a modern little pod. Not fussy or awkward looking like some of the others I saw. And customer service? Fantastic. I had a question &they got back to me right away.. super kind and helpful. All in all, I’m so glad I bought this. It’s made it possible for me to enjoy my backyard again and honestly it feels like a whole new world out there now. If you’re picky, comparing a million options, or debating on the fence -I wasn’t disappointed once it arrived.
