It is a good toilet auger for a house or apartment and it gets the job done for the low price. I have used the auger 3 times and it has helped clear the clog all three times. The trick is to grab the plastic housing and rotate the wire clockwise as you gently force the auger down thru the toilet and sometimes you will have to pump the auger up and down to snake it thru the toilet and force it thru the obstruction in the toilet but it does work. If there is a hard object stuck in the bottom of the toilet (such as a toothbrush or a child's small toy) then this auger will help bring the hard object back up into view where you can retrieve it with a pair of pliers. To all you non-plumbers, the goal is to allow the tip of the auger to grab the obstacle by rotating the auger clockwise thru the toilet and counter-clockwise to bring the obstruction and the auger back up toward you where you can grab it with a pair of pliers. That way, if there is a bath towel (for example) that accidentally fell into the toilet, then you can retrieve the towel without forcing the towel down into your piping system. In other cases (such as toilet paper) the auger will force it thru the bottom of the toilet and clear the clog - it all depends on what is clogging the toilet. If snaking the toilet doesn't work, then you may have to call a plumber or remove the toilet yourself and flip it on it's side in order to get to the obstacle at the bottom of the toilet using a pair of needle-nose pliers. I give this product 5 stars based on price vs performance. I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty use but it is more than adequate for an average home or apartment. Just remember to be gentle with it.

Sooooo. I had a clog one time THAT OVERFLOWED AND MADE MY MOMS FLOOR A MESS!. (Yeaaah...It was a very long time to clean up and explain to my mom...)Which lasted 4 TO ALMOST 5 DAYS! I tried everything! Plunging, Hot water, and dish soap. Tried to flush it by more water but no, nothing seemed to work. Until I saw a YouTube video about Toilet Augers. I NEVER KNEW THESE EXISTED! My mom was going to call a repairman but I said no need. So I went to amazon and seen it was one-day shipping (I have amazon prime) And for the price and looks. I was skeptical but IT FREAKING WORKED! I love it so so SOOOO MUCH! Right when it helped unclog and flush the toilet called my mom and she was shocked as well. For something this cheap and getting the job done and also DOING IT YOURSELF When it would take a repairman 30 minutes to an hour to do it. All it took me was 5 to 10 minutes. That's all. So don't wait please! Get this if you have a clog or don't. Get it as a precaution! Thank you for taking a look at my long review! Hope YOU ALL ARE STAYING SAFE OUT THERE! (P.s. This was the new year and I got it in 2020 of January 23 before this COVID-19 Got out of control. Also as you can see in the pictures I kinda broke mine down but hey. If it ain't broke DON'T FIX IT! The toilet in question had been clogging for weeks. No matter how many times you unclogged it with a plunger, it would go back to being stopped up after the next deuce or two. This arrived and I had a little difficulty getting the auger to go inside the toilet itself. Pieces of the PVP pipe surrounding it actually broke off after the first couple of uses. I used it about eight times, to be sure it worked. The toilet has had trouble flushing since I used this auger, but it's because of the low water pressure of the toilet. It takes a good minute for the toilet to finally flush, when most flush within 10-15 seconds. Still, it flushes. The low water pressure in the toilet, I believe, was always an issue. This is my niece's house, and I've been here less than two months, so I can't say. This clogging has been an issue since I've been here. Before calling a plumber, buy this first. All you have to lose is less than $7.00, and more likely than not, it's bound to work and dislodge whatever it is that is making your toilet clog.

My kids bathroom toilet was backed up. My husband and I used 3 types of plungers .... fail. 4 weeks out of commission. Horrible. 3 kids plus our baby had to use our bathroom. I was going to pull the toilet up myself. Wet/dry vac.... few hand tools... new wax ring—- easy. Yeah easier said than done; I’m 8 months pregnant and my husband will do what I ask only I’m a hands on type of woman so I just prolonged the process until I figured out what I wanted to do. Scatter brains🥴... I thought back as a kid when my uncle was the complex maintenance man... he rod in a cart with all types of tools and one I remembered well was this super heavy orange and steel long thing he called a “Snake”— sayless— this product here did the job in less than 20 seconds and my toilet is completely unclogged 100%. Best Buy and proud of it!!! 🦸🏽♀️ No wet/dry vac, additional hand tools, plungers, no huge heavy expensive product—Just one that gets the job done! I feel I should buy this as a gift for my siblings, mom and as house warming gifts. Yeah I’m different but they think of me when I save them a headache 🤕

First time I tried to use it was today. Handle came right off without much use. Maybe 5 minutes or less. And I can’t figure out how to get it reconnected. Now I don’t remember what the end looked like but wasn’t there a rounded thing on the end of the coil at the business end? Well not any more. Nope. Going to have to spend another few hard earned bucks and buy another one.

Funny story kind of, So anybody ordering something like this is either having a problem or expecting one. In my case the problem had already occurred. Plunging made it worse. Most chemicals don't recommend use in toilets so I tried the granules that were made for toilets. Followed the directions perfectly and waited overnight. No good This thing was clogged, even my $260 power auger wouldn't work because it wouldn't make the bend in the toilet and I could tell that the clogged was in the toilet not the pipe. I ordered this tool and closed the door so nobody would use it and shut the water off to the camode Guaranteed to be here by Sunday, Sunday came and went and no tool. Monday at 3pm I decided to go to the hardware store and buy one. Bite the bullet. Lowes had 2, 1 for 24.00 lite duty and the other 50.00. I decided that this was a big clogged so better get the professional grade. By the time I returned home my auger had arrived in the mail. But I was pissed off and vowed to send it back. Besides I had a professional grade auger now. Upon reading the directions and watching a couple of videos I proceeded to wind the auger into the toilet and about 1/2 way in it stopped, wouldn't go any further and wouldn't come out. Now I'm really pissed off. I finally got it out and it had broken the auger off of the handle by turning it forward and backward to get it out. It had a big clump of you know what on the end but now it was broken and unusable. I hesitate pulled out the Cobra product and tried again. This time it made all of the bends easily and I could tell when it hit the clogged. I just kept turning the auger and in about 2 minutes it was through and the water went down Amazing! It wasn't completely cleared but after pulling it out and reinserting it several times and continuously turning the handle it now is perfect . After the snowstorm that we're expecting tonight the pieces of the 50 dollar piece of junk is going back. This is now a good addition to my home tool collection and the price is right.

Worst auger ever, too small for a toilet, and got stuck after 30 seconds. Will be an expensive bill. Please do not buy this under any circumstance; you will risk getting it stuck and having to pay hundreds for a plumber.
