    • A lot less than expected
I should start by saying that in the past few years I have spent thousands of dollars in Coaster furniture. I first was introduced to the brand by a local furniture shop and I appreciated the quality of the furniture I purchased. I felt like the quality was worth more than what I paid for it. It has lasted years and since I purchased my initial piece of Coaster furniture, I have continued to purchase more of the same brand. When I saw this sofa bed by the brand I trust, I expected nothing more than what I have received over the past few years. When I first saw the package at my door, (no signature required apparently) I thought "no biggie". But then I saw a hole on either side and I grew concerned. Once I opened the package (pretty big package) everything seemed to be ok. Once assembled, it seemed fine except for the rear left side. There is quite a bit of thread coming off from the rear left side, it does not seem to align to any of the wholes I noticed on the back so I can only assume it came straight from the manufacturer this way. The other thing I noticed, it looks way fluffier on the picture on Amazon than it looks in real life. I would have liked to receive what was pictured vs what I have now. The item on the picture seems significantly taller and way fluffier. Mine looks ok. If it looked like the item on the picture, I would be way happier with the item. If the picture had accurately reflected what I would get, I wouldn't complain. Am considering returning the item based on the fact that mine looks like a skinnier relative of the original. The "removable arm rests" are literally that. With the arm rests, I am not sure if it's the item or me. I could not figure out a way to attach them to the sofa. If there isn't a way, then they should have listed them as "moveable" not "removable" because I could not secure them to the sofa in any way shape or form. If it's me, then I apologize. Tell me how and I will raise my review up one star. For what it is, the sofa is almost worth what I paid for. I feel that I did not get what was advertised nor did I get the quality that I was accustomed to from the brand that I trusted. The sofa did arrive at the time described by the shipping/selling company so I do not fault them for the short comings. I am currently working on figuring out how to upload pictures so that anyone interested in purchasing this item can see what I'm referring to. The sofa, overall feels ok. Not bad but not anything to complain about. I am a bit concerned about how long this will last. As I folded the sofa into the sitting position, one screw fell out. I couldn't figure out where it came from. I did buy the extended plan when I purchased this sofa so 20 bucks for 3 years of piece of mind is not too bad. I will update once I figure out how to upload the pics or when something else meaningful happens. ***Update*** Am a little late updating this review. In March I had to throw the sofa away. All of the pleather was peeling and whole sections of the sofa were bald. To add insult to injury, the right legs of the sofa snapped rendering the sofa unusable. The sofa lasted me less than 8 months. Ended up buying a new set of sofas from a local furniture shop and am way happier now. ... show more

All, I was skeptical about placing an order on this futon after reading many of the reviews, but I ordered anyways. My mother runs a high end interior design firm and carries high end furniture as well. So I understand how furniture is made, how much it actually costs, wholesale, retail, etc. So this review will make sense. Like anything in life, there's "good", "better" and "best". I would say that this futon is definitely at the "good" level. I certainly don't think it's worse than that. This futon is a lot of bang for the buck. I think a lot of people who wrote harsh reviews about the quality don't understand furniture. So don't expect this futon to last you 5 years without deteriorating. Buy it knowing it will be practical for 2-3 years, and for this price, you won't find anything better. It just got delivered yesterday, 2 days prior to the delivery timeframe they initially gave me. So bonus points there. It was easy to assembly...like Ikea easy. It's cheap pleather, dark brown, almost black in a darker room. It does have a recline position between full upright and full flat, that was something I wasn't expecting, and am happy about. The arm rests are useless, with no way to attach them to the seat, they slide off. Besides, they make the couch look cheap. Go buy a couple colorful throw pillows instead. The futon is firm upon arrival, which you want since it will slowly break itself in over time. My plan is to use a 3" mattress pad when it's used as a bed, once that's on top, this should be plenty comfortable for guests who stay a couple nights at a time. The package from shipping did have a hole in it, thankfully it was the side of the box that was the underside of the couch...so no real damage. So be prepared to have some package damage, possibly. I bought the amazon warranty that was offered with this product, it was only $15 for 5 years coverage. I hope to not need it, but for $15 you can't go wrong. Get it.
