This hair dye is a great product as I was looking to cover a few grays. It completely covered the stubborn wiry gray hair (dare I say platinum?) that were starting to form around my temples. I have coily hair and this product did what henna, and that new 'shampoo in hair color' that is popular right now, could NOT do. This permanent dye was easy to apply, and the directions were fun to read. (Do a little dance while you shake the bottle, ha-ha). My hair was black, and I left it on for 25 minutes and got the most beautiful dark cinnamon brown color! Just lighter enough but not shockingly different. The gray hairs transformed into a shiny lighter color, and it looked like highlights. I wish I had a photo! I will use this every time I want to cover grays! p.s. Really liked the ease of this coloring kit. Comes with gloves, developer bottle, color in squeeze tube, conditioner and a glaze for shine to be used in a week or so. The smell is nice and not amonia or toxic smelling. I used a chocolate color and put it all over (done mind the color on the forehead). Went from blonde to this beautiful plum! Because of the length of my hair I got three boxes the first time and thank god I did! After washing and drying I was able to see the blonde that I missed and was able to fix it right away. It did lighten quite a bit just because I was so blonde to start and got very purple. But when I did my roots four week later I brushed it through and it’s been good this time around. The packet of booster was great to get me a couple of extra weeks before dying it again. I used the chocolate and needed two boxes for my thick hair. The first bottle mixed up to almost a fluorescent orange. The second bottle looked like blood. I don’t know why there was a difference in two bottles of the same color, but thankfully it developed into a rich, chocolate brown. My hair feels very soft and shiny. I love the wild blackberry color. It does bleed for at least a week after coloring. I sweat a lot and I will get blue streaks down my skin and I have stained a few pillowcases and washrags. I don't care. I don't use the brightener packet it comes with because I don't think it does anything, the color stays bright without it. ... show more

This is the only hair color that takes my blonde to a brown color while eliminating orange brass. Deep, rich color, soft hair and with color safe shampoo/conditioner it seems to last awhile.
