The squirrels have been devouring my garden this year! I keep my plants in plastic totes, so I used this chicken wire to build cages around my plants inside them. After realizing that the squirrels will climb under them too, I added lawn staples to attach them to the ground. Some comments said that this wire was thin, but I didn’t find it to feel any thinner than other chicken wire I’ve worked with. It was an amazing bonus that it came with the wire, wire cutters, and gloves. It was everything I needed to build my cages. The cutters made it easy to cut to size, and the wire was helpful for attaching it to itself in a loop and to secure the top piece to the sides. You do need to be careful of the sharp edges for safety, but I haven’t had any problems with it. The gloves are a good idea to protect your hands while working with it. I noticed that I also needed to be aware of where it is near my face while I was unrolling it because it can bounce around a bit. While I unwind it from the roll, I slightly bend it the opposite direction so it will start to lay flatter and be more workable. It is just wire so it will go where you bend it. It has been durable and done exactly what I needed it to do.

I am currently using this chicken wire fencing for around my vegetable garden. I utilized large wood dowels as posts for around the garden and then zip tied the chicken wire to the dowels. So far it works very well and has kept rabbits out of my garden so they don't eat my plants. The chicken wire is not very thick so it can easily be cut and bent when needed. The size that it was advertised as was accurate as well. I also appreciate that it comes with gloves and cutters so you are able to cut it without needed additional tools. The gloves are fairly low quality, but work well for the task they were designed for. Overall, I think this was a great value and works incredibly to keep small animals out of my garden. I think it could also be used for other projects very easily.

I used this wire for the bottom of my DIY planter boxes to keep moles out. It was easy to use. I love that it came with wire cutters, gloves and mending wire for larger areas. I used 1 roll for the base of two 4x8 planter boxes. It stretches somewhat to get a tight fit. It comes wrapped in plastic wrap with the tools in another bag. Compact and well packaged.

I don’t usually write these but the product is great and the tool was very helpful. The mesh is the perfect gauge as described. The gloves fit a kid and I recommend either removing those from the sale or putting a much larger size glove.

We use to make covers for flower pots to keep squirrels away from seedlings (and seeds) This is easy to form into domes. We bought and used a couple years ago and with more flower pots to cover, needed some more. Nice it comes with clippers and wire. I would recommend. Would be good for keeping rabbits away from seedlings in ground also. We fold up when seedings are about 6 inches and put in an outside corner. Has survived two to three bad winters with no rust or other deterioration!

Great price, very quick shipping, easy to use, flexible, lightweight, and good height. My husband used it to enclose tomato cages which can be placed over newly planted trees, roses, and clematis…hopefully this will deter the rabbits and deer from eating them to the ground. Once the plants mature we can remove these chicken wire cages. A relatively inexpensive solution to our problem.
