  • Better than expected
I bought and assembled this coop three months ago. Came in several boxes, hence the high shipping price. Instructions decent. Pay attention to boxes, sides and their directions, you will be fine. It's softwood so less robust than I would prefer to build myself. But I could do this alone in a long day versus my preferred 2x3 build that would take about 3 days and cost much more. At this stage, I feel I made the right decision. I appreciate that it has metal reinforcements on several risky joints. The pieces are well cut and fit correctly. I was also impressed with the roof, where the components and their matching screw holes were a perfect fit. We have three birds, it could easily accommodate 5 or 6. We also bought the electric door. I suggest putting it on as you are assembling, rather than after. Same for the heater. I installed a heater (the one that looks like a small LCD tv) by making a wooden brace and drilling through the back side. I'm a mid-large sized 65 year old guy and don't contort all that well into tight spaces. All the accessories fit nicely. The hardware is neatly packaged and marked so should be easy for an attentive beginner. Nothing beats a cordless drill. There's plenty of room for the girls to move around. Also plenty of room for a waterer with heater and a side mounted feeder. I ran the electric cords for the door, water heater, and internal heater along the back side with one hole in the front wall. The door's small solar panel is on the roof, and the control panel just above the doors for easy access. Think about placement, any necessary electricity, and follow the instructions. I am pleased. ... show more

  • So far, so good
This was a fairly easy set up, that me, my 8 year old grandson, and my 10 year old granddaughter put together in about 3 hours. Our 4 chickens seem happy for now. I may choose to add on to it eventually, but for now, and for the money it seems perfectly adequate for our needs.

  • Loving our chicken coop!
After reading several different reviews of different chicken coops, we're very happy to have selected this one! The asphalt roof is wonderful; it arrived even quicker than anticipated; it may have taken a little longer than stated for two of us to assemble, but truly worth taking our time! The holes for the screws are predrilled, and out of all of them, there was only one that was off center; it was going to cause a fracture in the wood, but we were able to use our dremel and make a new hole. I like the locking feature of the doors. The chickens have taken to it wonderfully! ... show more

  • Very Cheap Materials
This product is poorly made and won't last you very long. You're better off building one on your own or getting a shed. This would only last a couple years as it is very flimsy. Unfortunately mine arrived broken and I had to ship it back.

  • Cooped up
We love the set up of this coop, but I don't think I would put more than six girls in there.

  • Not worth the price
While the coop is super cute, it is definitely not worth the money. It is poorly made and I would be surprised if it even makes it through an Iowa winter. Multiple pieces were broken, it’s scratched, and looks cheap. It’ll serve its purpose for a while and thankfully we have it protected by a shed otherwise I have no doubt in my mind the wind would knock it over. ... show more

  • Why over prices or they send the wrong. It definitely don't fit 6 -10 chickens.
It's way over pricefor the size of the coop. It's supposed to be for 6 to 10 chickens. It barely holds 4 chickens. It's a waste of money. When I adked for a replacement the seller never got back to me. So I'm out that $500 and Still had to purchase one that is for 10 chickens. The prices was 1/2 and 200 times better made and comfortable for the chicken's. Stay away, just saying! ... show more
