Very good router in my opinion. Highspeed, compact, decent looking. Simple connections and runs quite cool.

  • New Box with Used Modem
Size: compact DOCSIS 3.1 (2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port)
The modem I recieved came in a new box, ethernet cord and power plug with a used modem. Modem was covered in dust and finger prints. Set up was easy and initialy worked great. Next morning I had no internet connection. After rebooting it three times it came to life. Next day no internet connection again. It would not reboot all though the lights indicated it was good. I worked with my internet provider and they could see the modem and sent a reboot signal which it recieved but no internet. Tried another reboot and it came to life. Guess there was a reason it was previously returned. Amazon is sending me a new one Friday and will see what I get. Will update my review later. Update: I recieved a new modem. Again setup was quick and easy. Worked great for 3 days and then "NO INTERNET". Several reboots and starts working. Next morning same thing. Again I am with Xfinity 1G plan. I never had this problem before. Returning again. ... show more

  • Fantastic at it's job.
Size: compact DOCSIS 3.1 (2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port)
Slower connection to Xfinity than shown (15 minutes), but if you're patient this will self-register. I took a different route and attempted to add the MAC address into my list of authorized Xfinity devices through their app, but requires continuious network connectivity, So once you've disconnected your old cable modem (unless you have a splitter), your internet goes down. My experience was just over 30 minutes, but it works perfect. The 4-5 page fold out instructions show different variations of blinking, pulsing, or steady light to indicate status. The modem will restart several times as it binds to your provider, downloads updates, and reboots, but the lights are a very mellow version of status. When it is all the way online and functional, it will be a solid wite light. The light is neither distracting nor obnioxious. I run a TPLink Archer BE800 Wifi 7 Router, and that also took a few minutes to integrate, but the delay was on me having forgotten that one of the 2 10G ports is primary. Once I remembered that I was up instantly. I greatly appreciate the small and blend into the background nature of the modem. So many of the cable modems are a loud color, tall, or Christmas Tree of bright indicator lights. This modem focuses specifically on a connection to your cable provider, and does not address wifi, or providing additional ports. It is perfect for my needs since I have the new TPLink Archer. This for me was a choice with specific intent, as I like function separation, that way if one fails the cost to get back on line is far less expensive. But from the selections currently available I did not see a combo Modem/Router that was DOCSIS 3.1 along with Wifi 7 and 10 G ports. ... show more

  • BOOSTED INTERNET SPEED!
Size: compact DOCSIS 3.1 (2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port)
I bought the Motorola B12 modem to replace my Netgear CM1200 which recently broke from physical damage. I have a 1gb plan with Xfinity, and the Netgear modem would typically get around 900mb download. Now with the Motorola B12 modem, I am getting around 1150mb download on the same Xfinity plan! Not sure why--both modems are Docsis 3.1. Needless to say, the B12 is far exceeding my expectations. Form factor is also great. Before buying the B12, I bought an Arris Touchstone 8200A. I had to return the Arris modem because it would not connect with Xfinity (despite many hours troubleshooting with Xfinity and Arris reps). If your trying to decide between Docsis 3.1 modems in this price range, I definitely recommend getting the Motorola B12. ... show more

  • Does not fully support Comcast/Xfinity
Size: compact DOCSIS 3.1 (2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port)
WARNING: If you have Comcast/Xfinity, these (MB8611 and B12) modems may not be supported. While they are DOCSIS 3.1, they do not support OFDMA upstream connections which makes them completely unsuitable for internet plans that expect that. I have a Comcast/Xfinity 2Gbps/300Mbps service, and neither of these routers worked properly for me. This was a drop-in replacement, reusing all of the same connections and settings as the CODA56 modem, and it destroyed my connectivity. This thing just bottlenecks all to hell and basically just lags out any time it's pushed. My download speeds top out at 500Mbps (it's supposed to be 2Gbps), and my upload speed is a paltry 5Mbps, a far cry from the 300Mbps it's supposed to be. Even worse, the latency jumps massively any time there is any activity. For those curious, my router is set to limit my 2Gbps service to 1500Mbps which completely alleviated any lag/buffer bloat when running the CODA56. The performance the "Nex Gen" MB8611 is getting is abysmal. Given the name of the product says "Nex Gen" when they meant "Next Gen" kinda says a lot about the expected quality you can get from Motorola these days... I replaced this trash with the Arris S34 which does support OFDMA. The CODA56 also supports OFDMA and is a decent alternative as well. ... show more

  • No OFDMA support, multiple failed attempts to connect with xfinity
Size: compact DOCSIS 3.1 (2.5 Gbps Ethernet Port)
Tried purchasing a used one to save some money, but it seems like I should have just saved my time instead. This unit doesn’t support OFDMA uploads and adding the modem’s MAC address to xfinity’s 1G service was impossible. Loved the updated look, but beware of this one.
