Description

Fairly easy to assemble. Directions pretty clear. I was able to assemble it in 1 to 2 hours. Larger than I expected. It would very comfortably fit two chickens. Will probably fit up to 4 hens depending on the breed. Might be able to fit up to six silkies. Wouldn’t recommend this as a permanent enclosure for a large group. We love our new chicken coop! We initially purchased 1 coop, but quickly realized we would want more than 2 chickens and needed to expand. We had a vision of having the coop take up the corner space in our yard so we purchased a second coop. It was nice that we could switch the assembly so that the doors could face the other direction without any problem.Right now we have 4 pullets and they fit comfortably with plenty of space. For the price or even higher price this is an amazing coop! I will also add a latch to the door on the handle end of the run for safety when we move the coop outside and attach the base we built that it sits on with screws. The chickens and I are very happy! Easy instructions, each piece has a letter that matches the instructions along with exactly which screws to use. Smells like cedar which is a plus I didn't know I was getting! Took us about 45 minutes to put it together, needs 2 people to hold together while screwing in the screws. Nice heavy, thick shingles for the roof. Great for 2-4 chickens. I can not say enough good about this coop other then if you are considering, just buy it! We bought two and had them completely assembled within 2 hours. super simple. Very sturdy and well made! I added some chicken wire to the bottom for extra security and it is perfect!! I would repurchase these over and over! We are so happy with this. It's super easy to clean and so well made. It was a breeze to assemble. We bought it as a transition place for our older chicks and since then we've used it to isolate some hens that a rooster was harassing and they started laying again and loved the little coop. I would say it's perfect for 2 or 3 hens, bantams even better, or a handful of chicks.

Works well
Color: Chicken Coop Door-Grey
Overall great door. It did make a smaller entrance which is more difficult now to get in and clean but at least o don't have to go out and open and close the door anymore!

This product doesn't not do well in cold temperatures.
Color: Chicken Coop Door-Grey
Out the box this product does what it says , as long as it's not cold out. I first purchased this unit in the summer time and everything was great until winter came. I live along the coast of NC so winters aren't harsh at all. Recently the temps have been getting into the low 30s and the door won't open on it's own in the mornings. I have been having to manually open the door(which is not an easy task) until today when the door just won't budge a bit. I don't know if dirt is getting under the door rails and freezing causing it not to open or if the mechanics just don't like the cold and stop working. Needless to say, this door is junk and I would not recommend it. ... show more

An Inconsistent Door
Color: Chicken Coop Door-Grey
Anytime my chickens are put in harms way, that is a 1-star product. While looking like a well-crafted auto-coop door, it didn't take long for the control unit to start resetting the time, going from 2 bars at night to zero the next morning, and randomly closing during the day. We are in Texas, and a chicken caught in a closed coop will die from the heat quickly. After the second error, we now have no faith that the door can be trusted for extended periods. We would have returned it, but we gave it too much grace and went past the 30-day refund time. We have bought an Omlet replacement door and will eat the cost of this learning experience. Save yourself some frustration and pay a little more for a consistent experience. ... show more

Not terrible, not amazing.
Color: Coop-Grey
We’ve had this for around a year or maybe a little over a year/under a year at this point. We bought 2 of them. I’ll say 3 stars because of low quality wood, as far as thickness of it, so when putting it together, the pre-drilled holes weren’t deep enough, or sometimes too deep, so I had to come up with a few solutions. I will say though, I am impressed about how well it’s held up, seeing how the wood is thin in a lot of places, and misshaped, in a lot of places. The directions were garbage, but I was able to mount it together like a Lego set. Just kinda figured most of it out. The quality though, it’s lasted in South Carolina weather for however long it’s been. Rain a lot, no snow where we live, yet anyway. They’re both mounted together long ways, so basically the end where you would have a stop, is just open to the other side of the cage. We have 8 hens that live in there full time. We have a turkey too, but it’s way too small, even put together. The turkey is too huge even at only 6 months old. I’ve been impressed with how well it’s stood the rest of time for this fist year. My plan was to move it where it’s from and put it in our back yard, and put it on a platform that I’d build on my own. That will be the true test. If it doesn’t fall apart when I move it and lift it on the platform, I’ll give it 5 starts just for the sake of it. ... show more

good but some small changes will make it great.
Color: Chicken Coop Door-Black
one of the only doors that is big enough for my coops opening. setup is easy and so is installation. few things that i don't like. first, there isn't an external disconnect for the display/control unit and the door. you have to open the control unit to disconnect. the solar charger does not seem to do the job. i came home from work one day to find the door never opened and the birds were stuck inside all day. ... show more
