It's my first air fryer. Why have I deprived myself so long? This thing is easy to use, comes with three grates + a grease pan (or whatever you call it), quick to cook, and holds a lot of food. I use it every day, probably twice a day. I've only tried the air fry option - not bake or dehydration. I will say, keep an eye on your food if using the pre-built options. Not all seafood, chicken, veggies, etc are made the same so time/temp may vary. If you put a thin sliced chicken breast in there and hit the "chicken" option.. it's probably going to be overcooked. Still solid once you learn it. Review for Amazon*** I bought the unit used, but "like new". However, it came with greasy finger prints all over the buttina, dried food still inside, and without a manual. Definitely mis-classified. ... show more

Cooks nice and even, very convenient. This was an investment that has paid off well. Not only does an air fryer cook evenly, food tastes better, but it’s so much more healthy to cook with. Plenty of settings to guide you through its various pre-settings and temp. control settings. You can cook so many dif. things:: For example: fish sticks, chicken nuggets, pizza muffins, steak, chicken, etc. food tastes so much better in the air fryer. Vegetables are good also. Great buy for the price. It comes with everything you need to get cooking right out of the Box. I had a Toaster Oven I've had for 40 years and still worked great a Black and Decker, only issue is the grease built up over time and it caught on fire because I didn't maintain it after about 30 years. I got this thing and its loaded with great settings for Air FRY, Super Fry, Bake and dehydrate. I give my service dog chicken jerky I make at home in my other dehydrator, but I'm switching to this because its faster and I like that I can see while it's cooking. Super easy to use and has a nice big knob for adjustment. They even give you a tool to remove the hot tray so you don't burn your fingers and it's big enough to get in and clean very good. I've only had it 2 days but I'm not gonna jinx myself and say it should last a long time. Over all I am VERY happy with it. I made a chicken breast on Air Fry and it only took 15 min at 350 and came out nice and tender. ... show more

After years of people telling me to get an air fryer, I went Christmas shopping for myself. The reviews on many fryers were pretty good, so I broke down and landed on the Chefman 10qt. It was an excellent Black Friday deal that came with a payment plan. It had the oven door style that I preferred over a basket, came with three (3) removable, dishwasher safe wire racks and rotisserie, had several optional settings (including dehydrate), and would fit under my upper cabinets. Upon arrival I saw that the countertop footprint is relatively small. Plus! Even when pulling it away from the wall to allow for air flow while using it, the door still had room to fully open without hanging off the edge of the counter. After a couple uses it was easy to get the hang of. Personally, I preferred to use my instincts for cooking rather than relying on the presets, so I cannot speak to the settings in detail as other reviewers have. Overall, the food turned out right. The problem I had with the one I was shipped is the continuous plastic smell. It was cleaned, used a few times, cleaned again, but every time there was a smell of hot plastic. To be somewhat expected since the entire casing is plastic, but not something I enjoy emanating in my kitchen. The door, while definitely closed during cooking, was a bit tough to open which started causing the heated plastic control panel to bow in the spot you place your thumb in order to open the door. The fan, on this model anyway, is loud. I was a bit startled when firing it up for the first time as it reminded me of an airplane engine as it's warming up its rpms. I chalked it up to my never having owned an air fryer before and that it may be normal. I have found out since, that should not have gotten as loud as it did. I'm only removing one star because this is my experience with the particular item I received. Other reviewers have not had these issues so it would not be fair to rate the overall product as bad, just merely a moderately bad experience for me. Final thought: Cleaning the Chefman 10qt is super easy! While the description shows you can place the wire racks in the bottom of the dishwasher, the instructions say not to. I did, of course, and they came out fine, on heavy wash, each and every time. Just be aware that the racks are small, so there is no baking a 9" round cake. Also, I went to the Chefman website looking for accessories to fit and found nothing but links for their various fryers all leading back to Amazon for purchase. ... show more
