I use this for deer processing. For a couple deer a year, it works great. If you do much more than that I think I would probably get something bigger. Also make sure you put it together correctly. I was very skeptical about this product, after reading all the mixed reviews. Glad I purchased it. Works great, and yes some of the bad reviews are somewhat accurate to a point. 1. It is loud. True, but no louder than my food processor. 2. You can smell the electric motor. True, but all electric motors give off a smell. 3. It gets hot after 15 minutes. True, but if you let your mixer or blender run more than 15 minutes continuously, it will be hot as well. Mine did not hot til 25 minutes into it. I turned it off let cool down, and went back to it. 4. Poor quality. Not true. Yes there are better quality meat grinders, but they are commercial grade, and cost 5 times what this one does. Was it easy to put together. Yes Did it grind my meat. Yes very well Was it easy to use. Yes ... very. I purchased this item because, like many of you, I am tired of paying high cost for low quality food. I tried using a food processor to grind my meat, but it had a hard time grinding the fat. Hands down best money spent so far this year. I am thinking about purchasing the accessories for this.

Assembling the grinder was straightforward, although it was initially challenging to find the correct position to twist on the grinder body. It performed well during our first use, but we will need to monitor its durability over time. Disassembling, cleaning, and storing it is quite easy.

The only thing on this that is stainless steel is the blades and the tubing for sausage (I think the tubing is, haven't used it but upon reading headline again that is the ONLY thing they say is stainless steel.) I bought this because I thought the parts touching my food were stainless steel, well, they are NOT. Also instructions are of course in pictures so I dare you to figure out which way to install the cutting blade by the picture, spent about 10 hrs trying to grind about 15lbs of meat, having the thing get all clogged up and not being very happy. Finally out of desperation I turned the blade the opposite direction (which still makes no sense to me how the blade should face that way) but, bang that fixed my problem. That one was on me... and the stupid little picture which I am supposed to be able to tell which way the blade face. Also on me was that I did not reread the directions after a long period of not using the machine and once finishing a 15lbs of meat very easily I put the parts into the dishwasher, top shelf, no bleach in my detergent. Thought all would be good as after all it is "Stainless Steel".... well, this is how I learned it is NOT Stainless Steel. Needless to say I have ruined the accessories to my meat grinder as they all now have a gray film that keeps coming off no matter how much I wash. So these parts are no longer useable as they will contaminate my raw meat. Not a happy camper.

The housing that attaches to the motor seems to wobble up and down like something is out of alignment. I am a bit concerned that this may affect how long it will last. It does grind meat quickly considering it size cleanup was easy. I would give it 5 stars based on meat grinding and clean up.
