Seller reached out to me and was very apologetic about the issue with the torch and offered me a full refund. I have updated to four stars because of the great customer service. It might be worth the risk of getting a bad torch if the seller is willing to make it right if there are issues. Original review Just as another review stated, there are serious issues refilling the torch. When you try to refill, butane sprays all over the place and very little goes into the torch. I tried a different butane can and also different tips, all have the same result. I would advise staying away from this kit only because of the torch refilling issues.

This cocktail smoker arrived quickly, in excellent condition and in a nice gift box. After purchasing butane at a local hardware store and filling the torch, it fired right up. It took a couple of cocktails (oh darn) to get a feel for the right technique to obtain the desired smoke level, but after just a few I feel like an expert. I think the smoke adds more depth to whiskey cocktails, such as an Old Fashioned and even a Blackberry Smash. But it was a huge hit at Thanksgiving dinner, everyone choosing their own wood flavor to smoke straight bourbon over a single large ice cube, although you must be careful not to overpower the nuances of finer pours. With so many of these on the market, I based my purchasing decision, in order, on 1) Extremely quick and helpful response by the seller to my questions, 2) A US based company, even though I believe the product is made elsewhere, 3) Cost was within my budget. This is a nice product at a fair price that I am glad to own.

Honestly i did have a little trouble with the torch holding the flame when it was inverted over the wood shavings. I posted a question on Amazon and received advice. It does work now. Set comes with different shavings and is well packaged. Would make a nice gift
