This charger is pretty well built. It has a good weight to it, enough to feel sturdy and expensive, but light enough to not be a burden. The plastic feels high quality and the cable coils easily. I love that it comes with a carrying case. The other two charges I have did not, and I hadn’t even thought of that. Since this one can plug into a standard outlet, it’s great to have a case to carry it around in your trunk for opportunistic charging. I also like that it at least claims to be waterproof, though I’ll avoid testing that as much as I can. You, as the buyer, just need to understand what you’re getting. This is a 16 amp 240 volt charger capable of also charging on a regular wall outlet. So you’re going to get a maximum of 3.8kW of charge out of it. That’s not very fast for level 2. You can charge much faster than that with a 32 or 40 amp charger for about the same price, but they don’t also have level 1 charging adapters and portability. So you need to do the math and understand the trade-offs. You could install a 14-50 outlet on a 50 amp breaker with heavy gauge wires to future-proof your setup, then buy an adapter to go from 14-50 down to this 6-20 plug. But if you’re buying this charger, it’s probably because you don’t need extremely fast charging. In 240 mode, this will go about 3 times faster than a trickle charge off a standard outlet, which for me is plenty. It’s also much cheaper to wire up a 20 amp outlet than a 50 amp one, especially if your breaker is far away from your garage (the thicker wire is so much more expensive). So, if you have thought it through and you understand the differences between level 2 chargers at different amperages, and you know you want a 16 amp charger, then this is a great choice. It can be used for light level 2 charging, and it can be carried around for level 1 charging off regular outlets (using the included adapter). The media could not be loaded. For a 110 Volt 16 Amp charger, this charger is fast. Compared to the charger that came with my PHEV, which is more expensive than this one, this is 1.5 times faster at charging my vehicle. It is very light weight and made with high quality durable plastic and rubber. After 2 months of use, under all kinds of conditions, this has held up well. It has a nice long cord and a functional storage bag. It also has a very convenient and user friendly control box making it easy to identify issues with charging. 5/5 Highly recommend. I am charging a Leaf overnight with this. It working fine for a month now. It puts out 7kw and is easy enough to throw in the trunk. For daily long term use I would like something that is a little heavier and more durable. This makes a perfect backup charger.

Looooove this charger! I had my old charger stolen out of my car and needed a replacement for when we need to plug in! I love that this includes two kind of charging options, one, plugging into a traditional 110 socket, but also supporting a higher wattage/amperage is just what the doctor ordered! Many options I looked at otherwise are an 'either/or' and not an "and" like this, where I can plug it into different outlets, different types of charging levels, different kinds of power outputs and amperages! So rather than being stuck with something like 8A and be restricted there at home, I can increase that output and charge my car much quicker! What more could I ask for?! ... show more

A 21 foot cable is very nice. People don't know this until they install this in their home garage but a lot of EV charging ports are not in a convenient position for where installation is most convenient. A 21 foot cable basically lets you install this almost anywhere and reach any model of EV. Charging wise, 16A is not necessarily a lot but you should know what you need before purchasing. 16A is going to be perfectly fine for the vast majority of people. You won't even need to plug it in overnight more than a couple nights a week, if that. Good quality portable charger. Just don't expect very fast charging speeds. Got this after supercharging got too expensive. I didnt look into home options since I rent and didnt want to request them to change their PGE plan. Soon enough, home charging is way cheaper and cost a friend about 10$/mo. I got this and my first charge went great! I use a regular wall charger, and this one even comes with an adapter. The cord is quite strong and the garage door closes on it, and ive had no issues. It does not come with a Tesla adapter, but luckily my Tesla came with one. I would recommend this item! ... show more

I got this charger for my wife's new electric vehicle. I wanted to give her as many charging options as possible no matter what situation she finds herself in. This is a great tool to utilize for those situations in that she can charge from a standard outlet (110v) or a dryer outlet (240v). This will be slower than our home charger but will be great if she is away at someone else's home who does not have an EV charger.
