For an inexpensive grill, it's great. I have the two burner. For a single or a couple, it's a perfect size. Over that, you'd need to go bigger. Couldn't see doing more than 8 burgers, or six decent sized steaks or chops. No issues at all with the usefulness of this grill. ... Now, assembly. Set aside some assembly time. I did it by myself. I think it would be fair to say, around 4 hours. I also think it fair to say, I take my time. I don't think the instructions could be much easier however, there are a lot of pieces and, the assembly is quite tedious. It's almost laughable. Two people are better than one, especially for the legs. I'm retired so, 4 hours or, 4 days really makes no difference to me. If you don't mind putting in the work, go for it. If your time is valuable or, you're not big on puzzles or crafts, go find one already assembled, and pay the extra $$ ... show more

I have many friends that have very expensive BBQ grills and all of them do the same thing. A gas grill gives you quick control over the level of heat. A larger grill gives you more room to cook and the ability to cook various items at the same time at various temperatures. I have never been able to tell the difference in the cooking ability between really expensive grills and the good ol Char- Broil. This is a new design for me to cook on with the tubular gas delivery system so I was a little doubtful it would give a wide even distribution of heat. To my pleasure it works great and delivers heat evenly across the surface. I might swap out the gas regulator to give me a larger flame for those items I like a good fire char on but overall this grill is great. I dont care what the experts say about charred food being bad for you, i like the taste and eating food is more than just giving your body fuel, its all about the taste and pleasure of eating. I also like the grill surface because its corrosion resistant and easy to clean. The heat registers are easy to take out to do a full cleaning and re-assembly is quick and easy, everything fits together well. Initial assembly requires common sense and it helps to look at the instructions and pictures. Overall it went together easily and seems solid enough to last for 5-10 years. I'm a daily griller so its gotta be tough to last at my house. The one downfall of this grill is the lack of a cover over the side burner. That was easily fixed by building a dual purpose burner cover/cutting board that gives me extra "counter" space on my grill for spices and a grillside board if I need to do any cutting while I cook. ... show more

It was easy to put together took about one hour. The pictures were good but assembly should be in the steps they have in the pictures . Take a moment to study the purpose and the tools were simple from a small took kit. The grill works great and for the average family more than enough.     • Do Not Buy - Completely useless for grilling anything

This is by far the worst grill I have ever used in my life, compared to other cheaper and similarly price models. I know you shouldn't expect much at this price point, but this grill is completely useless in all regards and incapable of cooking anything correctly. First of all, the heating elements are incredibly irregular. One side cooks twice as hot as the other, and even within the same heating elements there are hotspots that will cook one burger to a crisp while the one next to it is still raw. Furthermore, the control of the heating elements is incredibly imprecise, with the difference between burning something to a crisp and leaving meat basically raw after 10 minutes is about a millimeter of difference on the heat controls. And of course, the "sweet spot", if there is one is different for each burner. Cooking things aside, the other main issue with this grill is that there are huge hole in the bottom, so if meat accidentally falls through from cooking it will either get stuck in an area which doesn't receive heat (so it won't burn off in like most grills) or it will fall through one of the wide open holes and make a mess on your patio. The unit is incredibly flimsy overall, and the propane holder is a joke. The shelves do not feel sturdy, and somehow they managed to not include a simply hook on either side for hanging grill equipment such as a spatula or scraper. I have used several Char Broils in the past in comparison, which were actually the same cost or cheaper, and this is by far significantly worse than some of the models from a few years ago. Overall, please don't waste your time with this grill, it's nearly impossible to use in any sort of effective manner and will just end up with you trying to return it or give it away after a few uses of it while you look for something that can actually cook somewhat consistently and also doesn't leave a mess everywhere every time you use it. ... show more
