At first I was little confuse because there ws no manual, but I found out it was 3d instructions so I followed and very easy to understand and I completed smoothly. This garage opener very smooth ad very quiet. I was able to monitor my garage from any where that I want, and can open my garage from anywhere that I want to. I had to replace 3 garage door motors and was on the fence about how much “Tech” I wanted on a motor that I only needed to open/close a door. I bought these on a Black Friday deal so that pushed me over the fence. They work great, super quiet and great range on the garage door remotes. Installation was made easy using the QR code to download the installation manual/video so if you know how to turn a wrench it’s almost impossible to mess it up. The first motor took 40 mins to install while the third motor took 15 minutes. I was able to reuse the existing garage door sensors on 2 of the three doors without any issues. Now for the “Tech” review… The App acts like any other App, when it works it’s awesome, but when it doesn’t it is absolutely frustrating. In my humble opinion that’s just technology and I’ll say that since I installed these in November and it now is February, it’s been working for me 75 percent of the time. I look at it as a “plus” feature so it’s not a deal breaker but I didn’t buy these to “depend” on the app feature. All in all, they are a great motor. My issue is the using the app I can see my son and hear him in the garage but my speaker isn’t working he can’t hear me and I don’t want to be on hours with customer service after work or the weekend so I haven’t called yet

So far this product works great. I did buy extra buttons which were a bit hard to find which ones worked but I found a you tube video that recommended one and it worked. so i bought 2 more.

Overall, I am pleased with this purchase. I purchased this to replace a 20+ year old garage door opener, and this is my first belt driven opener. Wow, are they much quieter! Installation for this opener took me about 3-3.5 hours. I would be faster the second time, but hopefully I don't have to do another for a while! I did require the extension kit for larger garage door openers. Make sure to measure! I thought the installation was very straightforward and there were many aspects of the process that I thought were extremely clever designs. If you are reasonably handy with tools you should have no real issues with installation. Every step was clearly explained with a large sheet of fold-out directions. No single step was difficult. Note: the 'camera' really has nothing to do with the opener. It is integrated into the MyQ app, but practically, it is setup and configured totally separately from the opener. I think if I purchased again, I would just buy any camera and stick it to the bottom of my garage door opener. The camera worked fine for me, and I am good with what it does, but I'm not eager to pay for yet another subscription if I wanted to keep motion capture video. ... show more

    • ***EDIT: This is the worst garage door opener I've ever owned.
***EDIT: in the last 2 months, with the opener being about 3 years into the install (from brand new) it has started to stop while closing, I had a specialist come over and he says he thinks it is the opener going bad. Now tonight, the camera completely quit, no lights at all. That's after about 20 to 30 times of having it fail on me and having to reinstall it, often not working when I'm not at home and not able to see deliveries of who is coming in and out of my garage (kids or relatives or whomever). I have dropped this from a 2 star to a 1 star review. I emailed Chamberlain, remains to be seen if they will answer. The opener itself has been great for the main job it is supposed to do. It was relatively easy to install, and it is very quiet and reliable (thus far). That being said, I should have NEVER gotten the one with the camera. You have to have the MyQ app in order to use the camera, or operate the garage door opener away from home. I can't think of a way to put it nicely, so here it is: the app is garbage. Pros: You can open the garage from anywhere in the world using the app Cons: You have to have a monthly subscription to save any footage or even watch footage from earlier, even on the same day. You can't set the camera up on your own network, you can't save the footage on your own hard drive, they force you to pay that monthly fee if you want access to the camera. Wish I'd have known this beforehand. There is no way to adjust the notification settings outside of either turning them ALL off or turning off camera motion detection. We started with both camera and opener notifications turned on. We received both a notification from the camera AND the opener any time the garage door was opened or closed. WHY??? Why on earth would the app feel the need to send a motion detection notification when it is obvious there is motion from the garage door? We've had to uninstall the app and reinstall it several times now. 2nd time installed, started receiving up to 16 notifications an hour from the motion sensor, apparently it can sense insects, because that's the only thing we can attribute it to. The 3rd time we reinstalled it (currently) the only notification we get is when the door closes. That's it. Again, no way to manually fix this. So the only way to know if we are being robbed is if the thieves are polite enough to shut the door afterwards, THEN it will notify us. Honestly if you are looking into buying this, just spend way less money on the same opener WITHOUT the camera, it's not worth it. Just buy a separate camera and install it in the back of the garage, on your own network, it's not that hard to do. Plus you'll have a bigger field of vision in the garage to see what is going on, and it will cost way less money. Don't worry, the notifications on the MYQ app are garbage anyway and they don't work right, there's nothing to gain by buying the opener with the camera, nothing at all. ... show more
