We just moved into a new home a couple weeks ago, and decided to do the fans ourself - rather than pay the builder, or Home Depot. We found these fans on Amazon, and purchased two, to try out. One for the living room, and another for the master bedroom. Overall, we’re pleased with them. They look nice, and work well. The fan is quiet, and the light has (3) different brightness (warmth) colors to choose from. It’s operated with an included remote control, for extra laziness (laughs) One drawback, perhaps, is the fact that the Light is proprietary, and if/when it goes out - you can’t simply replace the bulb. We’ll have to change the entire fixture. But, crossing our fingers that will be a long time from now. We plan on purchasing more, to accent all the rooms. ... show more

This is the second time I bought this fan. Living in Florida, ceiling fans are a must. I've never been a fan of ceiling fans, I'd much rather have a great looking light. But, if necessity dictates, these fans are a stylish solution. They are easy to install and provide great air flow. I'll start by saying that the fan works well and is very quiet on the highest setting. The light is bright enough, but doesn't illuminate a very large area, basically only directly under the fan. I would buy this fan again. However the installation was terrible. The directions omit several steps. Now these are things you'll realize need doing, but without directions, you don't necessarily know the best time. Some examples, they tell you to remove a set screw, but never tell you when to replace it. They never tell you that or when you should run the wires through the downrod. The illustrations don't even show wires, until the step where it tells you to connect them, at which point you would have already had to run them through several components in earlier steps. The biggest pain of all was finding what to do with the excess wire. Typically I would shove the wire into the ceiling box, but with this particular fan the controller module is placed into the mounting bracket in such a way that it completely blocks the ceiling box. There are wires coming out of each side of the controller module that need to be connected, so that you can't shove wires into the ceiling box and then put the control module over them. In summation, the fan works well and is very quiet. The light works well, has three color temp settings, but doesn't throw much light beyond the area directly under the fan. Installation was a pain and the directions were lacking. Remote is a nice feature, but lacked instruction on what all the buttons did.     • The remote and sensor issues

I had this fan installed in my son's bedroom. However you have to have the remote right up on the fan to turn it on..which makes it hard to turn off. Trouble shooting says find the sensor in the manuel..nothing in the Manuel mentions a sensor. We've tried from every angle to use the remote and still if you don't reach up to the fan, the remote won't work. Which means if he is lying down he would have to get up stretch his arm to the fan to cut it on or off. Super annoying. Otherwise it looks cool, warm or natural light option and the fan is strong. ... show more

It says woodgrain and I did not expect every piece to be PLASTIC, including the fan blades. I have a similar fan in another room, and all of the parts are METAL and the blades are actually real wood. For this cheap price I did not expect "real" wood fan blades, but these blades are plastic. I have several ceiling fans that have the heavy particle board fan blades that "look" like wood and I thought this is what I was going to get for this price. I at least expected particle board that looks like woodgrain and a metal casing and this looks horrible. I missed the return window, but there is no way this junk is going up in my house.
