  • Works great in RAV4 Prime
Size: BCI Group 47
This fits my 2021 RAV4 Prime XSE with no issues. The dimensions are the same as the OEM flooded lead acid battery, including the raised handle area. This is a full 23 lbs lighter than the OEM battery, and since the battery is out on the corner of the car I’m pretty sure I can feel the weight difference in the car’s handling, it feels lighter. It supplied 13V out of the box and started the car just fine. This is easy duty since the 12V battery on a hybrid doesn’t need to crank the engine, it just needs to boot up the 6 onboard computers and close the contacts from the traction battery to the DC-DC converter to get the car into ‘Ready’ mode. The instruction manual says to store and transport these with at least 60% charge so I’m assuming it had at least 50% when it was new in the box. A couple notes for RAV4 owners. To swap the battery on a hybrid you need to have the rear hatch open since that’s where the battery is. But after installing a new battery the rear hatch won’t operate. You have to slowly pull it down against the resistance of the motor (you can hear it spin). When you push it all the way to the bottom it will latch as usual, and will now operate normally. Also after swapping the battery the JBL premium infotainment system came up in a loop where it would only fully boot up for about ten seconds, then go blank and reboot again. To get it out of this state, someone discovered a workaround where you turn the car on, keep your foot on the brake, and put it in reverse for 4 minutes. I had to do that and it fixed it. If you trust the parking brake to keep the car stationary for 4 minutes you can use that so you don’t need to keep your foot on the brake the whole time, but I would stay in the drivers seat. The glitch might have something to do with the navigation part of the unit, and maybe having the backup camera display on for that length of time causes the right reset. I tightened the negative post clamp to the end of its travel and it was still loose enough to twist easily, with both the new and old battery. I bought a set of battery post shims at the auto parts store and used one on the negative post, cutting a wedge out of it with pruning clippers to give it the right fit. These are soft lead so are easy to cut and bend. I didn’t think to use the recommended backup power while swapping the battery, although I could have used our portable booster pack for that. With the tight space for the battery though, the clamps might have gotten in the way and there’s a risk of the positive clamp shorting to the body. If I used the backup power and was really careful I could have avoided the power-out glitches. If you want extra protection against a dead battery you can get the model with the button. In a draining situation that model will shut down with some reserve intact so you can shut off the extra load, hit the button and still have a chance to start the car. On my car the battery is a little hard to get to if it’s dead since you can’t open the rear hatch in that situation. I would have to climb in from the rear seat to get to the battery to hit the button, so I didn’t order that option. If this one dies we’ll use the portable booster pack we already have, clamped to the jump start contact in the fuse box under the hood. Update: This has worked perfectly over 5 days and 220 miles. It takes a charge from the RAV4 DC-DC at about 14.1V, and puts out a steady 13.1V when the car is switched to Accessory. I’ve tested it in draining situations such as leaving the rear hatch open, which keeps all the interior lights on for 20 minutes at a time, then repeating this for another 20 minute cycle by opening and closing a door with the hatch still open. ... show more

  • This isnt that actual stock group size for a 2018 Nissan Leaf.
Size: BCI Group 47
So far so good it's been two days. I fit this into a Nissan Leaf which calls for a 51R, but the stock tray was a good fit just needed a different Hold Down Bracket. I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVN21M8S?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1.

  • Group 47 battery review
Size: BCI Group 47
Battery is about 1/16" too wide to fit a Ford Ranger battery tray and too thick where where the hold down rides for the factory bolt to fit. Battery+ - terminals were on the opposite side of the battery had my cables been any shorter they wouldn't have reached. Pickup started quickly after installation. I'll post future reviews if anything good or bad arises. ... show more

  • Excellent in evey way!
Size: BCI Group 47
Extremely light weight. Starts car with ease. Accessory use doesn't drop voltage, whether car is running or not. On-board BMS charging circuit keeps battery fully charged and ready, whether taking short or long trips. Amazing for the price! BTW - I have an old car that used a Group 35 battery. This Group 47 battery is very close in size, and did the trick! ... show more
