We have installed this fan outside under our front porch. It is a very solid product and very quiet when running even at full speed. The remote is great with 6 levels and even a couple of timer options and a reverse mode. This has been a terrific inclusion to our outside lifestyle as we spent many hours sitting on our front porch, sipping Gins and watching the neighbors coming and going. Great product.

I typically don’t write reviews but I am so unhappy with my purchase that I needed to share my experiences with other potential victims. The short version is the product is garbage (literally, I’m throwing 3 brand new fans away). The fans click loudly with each rotation AND turn themselves on at random intervals and will startle my family awake at night on full speed with lights on. Here’s the long version with other grievances and annoyances: I ordered 3 fans, one with walnut blades and 2 with gray blades. The 2 gray fans are different models, one newer and one older by the looks of it, which is annoying because the canopies and remotes are different. I have installed the walnut and the older model gray fan. The installation was really difficult and confusing (as other reviews have noted). I have not installed the third fan that was purchased because I’m so unhappy with the 2 that are installed. My biggest compliant overall is that I cannot get them to balance, and they make a loud clicking noise with each rotation. I’ve tried everything I can think of, even stuffing some foam in baring portion to keep the rod from moving. The foam helped for a little while, but it recently went back to clicking. The single weight included in each package has not been helpful since it does not appear to be singular blade that is out of alignment. In addition to the installed fan’s being out balance, the lighting element is faulty in the older gray model as it defaults to 5000K each time you turn it on. I have to cycle through the lighting options each and every time I want to use the overhead light. The sensor for the remote is not very responsive and requires me to stand underneath the fan and push the button several times until it complies. I was ok living with these grievances for the next couple of years until I could replace it. However, most recently both fans have been turning on, on their own. It’s frustrating during the day, but unacceptable at night. Yes, I have been awoken by the loud clicking fan on full speed in the middle of the night several times. Although I really like the look of these fans, they are not worth all of the trouble. I have reached out to the seller but they refuse to help since I am out of the return window. This was an expensive lesson to make sure the item is installed within the return window since I will be throwing the fans out. I don’t have the heart to donate them and risk someone else having these issues. I have replaced the garbage fans with “WAC Lighting Swirl” and have not had any issues.
