  • Transforming homemade pizza night 🍕
Homemade pizza has become a fairly regular and favorite meal option for our family. Finishing it off in the Traeger smoker for some added flavor is a nice bonus. With this Cartman "oven", it will be easier to produce excellent pizzas ... after learning a few tricks. For example ... my first effort (not pictured here) was OK, but the one following (right after) was not good at all, as the dough stuck to the stone. It seems the best practice with a pizza stone is to "re-prep" it for each pizza. That means cleaning it off and dusting it with flour or cornmeal to prevent the pizza from sticking. Flour is also essential to having the pizza peel work right. Silly me, I thought some non-stick spray would do the trick. Nope (probably made it stick even more). Instead, put a modest amount of flour on the peel, then place your dough on the peel, and then quickly add your toppings. It's a good technique to gently shake the peel back and forth to keep the dough from adhering as you work on it. Then take the pizza on the peel to the stone and slide it off. I found that with my Traeger at 400, a good, crispy crust took 15 minutes. I used the peel to turn it along the way. The result was definitely one of my better homemade pizzas. I just need to work on getting the dough round! 😁 Looking forward to more masterpieces with the Cartman. ... show more

  • Terrible Low Quality Product
I was so excited about this pizza oven set since I love making homemade pizzas. Unfortunately, this product was a complete disappointment and I would give it 0 stars if that was an option. First, the item had dents all over it, scratches on the bottom of the pizza stone on all sides, and chips on the corners of the pizza stone. Since all the damage was on one side, I carefully cleaned the stone per the product's instructions and tried to make a pizza on the undamaged side. Complete waste of time and propane. I made the dough very thin, and well floured, and I sprinkled cornmeal on the peel to prevent sticking. This did not help at all and I had to use a large spatula to get the pizza off. While sticking isn't uncommon with a peel, it is so thin and flimsy you can't really use one fluid movement to get the pizza off on the stone like you could with a more solid peel. Then the pizza just did not cook. I did the 15 minutes on the grill with the lid closed once the grill hit 450 degrees. Then I put the pizza in with the lid open for 15 minutes and the dough was barely cooked on the bottom and raw on top. Thinking maybe I put too many toppings on (it was just light sauce, some mozzarella, and a few slices of pepperoni so unlikely) I tried again, let the stone reheat for 20 minutes once the grill came up to temp, then tried again. 15 minutes in and absolutely no luck. So I wasted two pizzas and cooked the rest of my homemade dough right on the grill instead with much better results. Outside of this product being poor quality and damaged, the instructions were completely useless. The box states the pizzas cook in 60 seconds, the listing online says 3-5 minutes, and the instructions just say "bake to your liking". Overall, there is nothing useful about this product and once it cooled off I threw it in the trash. ... show more

  • Great price to try it out!
The price was great especially for a first time try at making your own pizzas. If you decide it’s not for you, you’re not out of a-lot of money. It’s a great purchase to begin your pizza making skills.

  • It works, but it could be designed a little better,,,,
SO, I tried with a frozen pizza. It does make the pizza fully cooked and makes the crust very crispy if you want. However, because of the size, the shape and little tongues to hold the stone on the metal frame, these all make a little harder to toss the pizza in and rotate it if needed and taking it out. I did use it on the grill on my gas outdoor BBQ grill, the heat transfers to the stone with no issues. So, there is no issues with cooking the pizzas as long as it fits inside. It's just the design of it makes it a little harder to do the cooking process. Even after having done the pizza, it gets too hot to taking it off the grill and it will get very tricky to set it down to anywhere afterwords as it will not rest on the metal frame but the directly on the stone itself from the underneath. That's probably the most annoying factor. ... show more

  • Didn't quite work out
This is my unbiased review. I had high hopes for this item. I couldn't wait to try it and thought it would be amazing. So i made my special pizza dough, let it ferment for a couple of days in the fridge. I followed the directions, put the oven on my grill with my special wood, let it heat up and then put my pizza on the stone and was hoping for magic. It was not to be so. The pizza stuck to the stone and became a huge mess. The pizza peel is very flimsy and could barely hold my pizza, which was a very thin crust pizza with minimal toppings. Now, it is possible with some futzing and finagling, I may get this to work yet, but using simply as directed did not work out. if I find a way to make it work, I will amend this review and add my tips, but I expect items I buy to work as expected without experimentation. ... show more

  • Quick and easy use
We do our own pizza night including dough and sauce and all! This is a family event and we have made it into a tradition. We use our oven and were looking for something to use with the grill and found this! It came nicely packaged. It was easy to put together and looks great! The handle makes it easy to carry and comes with its own peel. This is great because I wasn't sure if the peel we have would fit in this oven. It is compact and fits right on the grill. When we make our pizzas we put them right on the stone, cooks evenly and makes a nice crisp crust. For the price this is a great option. WE plan to go camping at the end of August and will take this to use for our family camping event! Can't wait. ... show more
