Not sure how this product work however I am missing the screw cap that goes on the water tank. Can’t use this at all without it, now I have to go through the trouble of putting everything back in the box and shipping it. It’s such an inconvenience.

I recently moved into a new home that has very nice carpeting on both the upper level and lower level floors. The upper level carpeting is a bit more plush and the lower level (which serves as a den) is much more rugged and shallow carpeting. Unfortunately, both the plush and the shallow carpeting had some very noticeable stains that really detract from their appearance. I used a well known carpet stain remover that removed some of the stain, but it was still noticeable. I thought I’d just have to get a few throw rugs to hide the stains. When I saw this portable carpet cleaner I thought I’d give it one more chance. What you get in the box: the main body, including the hose, as well as a couple of attachments (the one with the brush is for tough stains whereas the brushless is for absorbing minor cleanups), and a bottle of stain remover. The instructions are really bad. In fact, I think the graphics are inaccurate as I believe they have the clean & the dirty containers on the wrong sides of the machine (in fact, I think the machine arrived with the containers on the wrong side!). Just watch the video on the Amazon page and you’ll get the correct installation - or just use logic and realize that the container with the two holes on the bottom go on the side with the two holes. Don’t use too much cleaner, says the manufacturer. Use the markings on the “clean water” container - I used 0.8 liters of water and 3 caps of the cleaning fluid. I mentioned that the instructions were not good - but they get worse when you try to figure out how to use the sprayer/water suction attachment. As far as I can tell, you press the button to spray on the fluid and then use the suction (which is just above the brush) to suck up the dirt & fluid. I suggest you just play it by ear: spray, brush, suction up. The directions tell you to try to suction up most of the water or you might have mildew. I suggest you use a hair dryer and get out the moisture a lot quicker. And boy, did it suck up the dirt. For such small stain areas, this thing really did a good job (see photos). I am including the before and after photos of two of the areas I cleaned. I intend to use it at least one more time on these stains but I am very pleased with the results so far. Pros: – really removes deep down stains on carpets – less expensive than comparable units – easy to use (ignore directions, follow your instincts) – feels solid, durable Cons: – directions, especially the graphics, are misleading and possibly inaccurate (watch the video!) ... show more
