Wow, really impressive cookware set, especially for the price paid. The nonstick coating is on the inside and outside surfaces, with the only exception being outside on the machined bottom. Very pretty also. I got the white color option, but it also comes in black, and some other sets by this maker are available in other colors. First use, I boiled some fruit juice for making my own Jello using unflavored gelitan. (The key to making your own 'natural' jello is to boil the juice and add the gelatin powder as the juice is boiling.) OK, now for an engineer's evaluation of heat dispersion in the pots and pans -- I was very surprised to see a very uniform transfer from the stove's flame spread uniformly through the pots surface, including the walls. These pots and pans are thicker than the normal one-layer tin pan, but still fairly lightweight, and I expected to see hot spots on them, but all I saw was tiny bubbles uniformly around the pots interior. Turning the pot upside down revealed a machined bottom that apparently controls the heat spread. Another feature I especially liked are the removable handles that allow one to store their cookings in the pot or pan without the handle taking up as much room in the refrigerator as the pan. Last, but least are the silicon tops for keeping the flavors in, and extraneous flavors out, during such storage. Only one 'con' (more like a caution) that I can see is the need to use "soft" silicon utensils (also available from Amazon), and don't use metal utensils (which tend to damage the nonstick coating.)

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked this set out after much research. My girlfriend then bought them for me as a Christmas present. The only downside was she made me wait until Christmas to get them. Hahaha. Anyway, the features I was looking for was ease in cleaning without a coating that could come off into the food over time. What I love about them after 7 months of extensive use is that they look like I’ve never used them when I cook in them nearly daily. They take literally no room in my cabinet; all stacking nicely together. They go from the oven to the table to storage. I love the detachable handles and the lids that store easily. I’ve kept a regular skillet and stock pot for pasta but have given all the other old pots to the Goodwill. I will never have to replace them and cooking is so much easier as well as clean up is nothing after a few minutes soak in hot soapy water. Extremely pleased.

We've had these a little over a month now and for the most part I love them. They evenly heat things, they're lightweight, and they look great. They feel very solid. However, they are not scratch resistant in the least, one of my pans already has scratches in it even though we only use plastic utensils in the pans, which is the only reason I can't give 5 stars. Other than that, I love them so far. I am taking the advice they give and detaching the handles when using them, even though that feels counter intuitive, but if it makes them last longer, all for it. The protectors that come with them feel... pointless. The goal is to prevent scratches, but them being in each other didn't scratch it, the plastic utensils did, so a bit confused at that inclusion.

I can’t rave enough about how wonderful this Carote set is! Every piece is truly non-stick, cooking and cleaning have never been this easy. The material feels high quality and durable, and I love how easily everything washes up without scrubbing. The handles are a smart design feature, they click securely into place so you know they’re attached, and I love that they’re removable for compact storage and versatility. Even the utensils that come with the set are surprisingly great quality! This has been one of my favorite kitchen purchases.
