I am delighted to write this review for the Caramel CAG64. I hope I remember all the things I want to write since there are so many features that I love. First off, let it be said that the instrument EVERYONE SHOULD start with is the piano. It is the foundation for all music making and learning. OKay, now that that's out of the way, I will comment on the uke. It is a beautiful instrument. It is lightweight, great for small humans to carry and hold in their hands. It is easy to tune and to turn the tuning mechanisms. It comes with a carrying case that you can carry on your back like a backpack or with a strap. It has a really nice sound. Strings are easy to put the fingers on and require minimal pressure to make sound. The included tuner and extra set of strings is a bonus as are the other tools. The booklet included is not too helpful, to be honest. I think a better inclusion would be basic things like how to tune the instrument, your fingers and how they are numbered, how to hold the instrument properly and maybe a couple of tunes to try out. That would've been a better resource to include. Nevertheless, this is a great instrument to start someone on the road to musical fun and success. I really love the compactness of it. Take it on camping trips, to the hospital, on a hospice unit, play tunes for people who will love to enjoy it, no matter where they are in their stage of living. The zipper pouch gives enough space to put all of the added accessories. I put the tuner in the case. That's an extra added bonus, too. I'm not a beginner but I still like the instrument a lot. I'm very happy with this ukulele. The sound is bright but not harsh, and it has a full tone with a nice presence that is not at all muffled. It can be played loud and also sounds good when played softly. The frets are uniform height with no edges or burrs. The fretboard is smooth and level. This instrument is very playable. The bridge is nicely sculpted and finished, and secures the pegs well. The appearance is lovely. The body is built of single pieces of wood which are joined and finished very well. Not a seam, crack, fill, or blemish in sight. The wood grain on the back halves is matched very nicely. The tuner hardware works well: easy to tune and stays in place. The tuner hardware is accurately placed. The hardware has some nice details but seems stamped and painted, not really up to the great quality of the wood body. The inlays on the fretboard and around the sound hole are nicely done. But wait, there's more! The instrument came with a sturdy padded case with a well-secured handle and adjustable shoulder straps. Plus, an electronic tuner that works well, a comfortable, secure, adjustable shoulder strap, complete extra set of strings, 2 picks, 3 extra pegs, a wrench for popping out pegs, and a sort of faux-chamois polishing cloth. Even the included instruction book is well-written (note, string replacement process for this instrument differs slightly from what's shown in the book). Overall, this is a very nice starter / intermediate instrument. It is very playable, sounds nice, looks good, and provides a lot of value for the money. I expect to enjoy it for years. ... show more

I've been musically inept pretty much all of my life but have wanted to learn to play an instrument for a long time now. As for why I decided to attempt learning the ukelele specifically? Complete random chance. I just happened to see it when I got on Amazon one day and thought about how cool it would be to be able to play it, so I ordered it right then and there. After getting it, I was and still am shocked this is priced at only $100, as it seems so well-made and looks beautiful. The accessories feel like bonuses; you get a very nice carrying case, a strap to attach to the ukelele, picks for strumming, extra strings, and more. I'm still completely terrible at playing it 8 days into owning it, but it's been a real joy to practice so far, and I look forward to keeping it going even if I do drive my neighbor's dogs into madness with it. ... show more

Excellent quality and probably the nicest ukelele I have ever seen. It comes with a carrying case, extra strings, a cleaning cloth and a clip on tuner. They have free apps available that teach you to play and will have you sounding like a pro in no time at all. The wood quality is outstanding. You could upgrade the strings if you wanted to.
