    • the grill does not show and difference once it is very hot, so use water to test heat of the grill.

I like the fact that this is a grill and a griddle combo. remove one top for the other depending on what you will cool. I think that the grill part is too close to the heat source and will get too hot for grilling steaks or brats. I love how small and portable this thing is. Far cheaper too than the BLACKSTONE. However it is a bit cheaper and it comes at a cost, I find the griddle surface is much more prone to discoloration even rust if left out accidentally at a camp site and just overall not the same quality metal as a high end griddle. The trick I find is just to spend some Time with it, I use soap and water with it warmed up knocks down what I can, then white wine vinigar with some heat scrape it clean. Then a couple coats of olive oil heat it up to temp she’s good to go again and or put away in storage. The geese trap(a) are handy and easy to clean I’ve made some amazing meals on this thing. Pro tip get some of those cheap tin foil pan things like You make a Turkey in. Makes a good lid for certain things and or keeping veggies and crap contained on half the griddle. The grill feature itself I am less impressed with but I was able go boil a huge pot with it so that’s a bonus. ... show more

Tlrd: Griddle surface flaked off while cooking. The company sent a replacement that was poorly manufactured. Welded supports were inverted, causing the griddle to warp when heated. Good customer service refunded the entire purchase and let me keep what I had. This is our third time using the grill, and already metal is flaking off it. We seasoned it properly before our first use using canola oil. Not sure what is flaking off, but the picture's silver sections are rough and no longer smooth. Very disappointed, but we took the risk with a cheap black stone alternative. Update: Camplux reached out and sent us another grill! We will season the griddle and test to see if the same problem persists. I will update asap. Final: After receiving the new grill, we encountered problems almost immediately. First, the drip tray holder broke. The spot welds holding it on gave out when I tried to place the tray inside. I had the old base, so, no problem for me. The second issue is a warping of the griddle the moment heat hits the cast iron. There was an annoying wobble while cooking. Once the griddle cooled, I flipped it over and compared the welded bracing to the first griddle. The welded bracing is inverted. Look at the picture and notice that the griddle fronts are next to each other. All told, poor quality control at the factory. I reported the problems to the company, and they promptly refunded my purchase. Even though the product was sub-par, their customer service was excellent—prompt reports and easy To work with.
