    • It's everything they say it would be!
I'd previously had a masterbilt smoker that allowed you to add as many pellets/smoke as you liked whenever you wanted. When it died I went with the big brand name Traegar Pro 575. I was so disappointed in the very, very low amount of smoke (it was a useless joke) that I returned it (thank you best buy, who took it back used, without packaging, without no hassle). After watching WAY too many smoker reviews I decided to pull the trigger on this Camp Chef, a brand I'd never heard of, mostly because of the wood chunk supplemental smoker box AND that you could dial in the level of pellet smoke from 1 to 10. It was super easy to assemble and hassle free (although they did leave out one back of bolts that I happened to have extra of in my junk box). In about an hour I was seasoning it and soon after smoking some chicken thighs. This thing REALLY holds temperature (unlike the Traeger) and the WIFI connected the first time (unlike the Traeger). The app is simple, but super functional, easy to use and works flawlessly; it's all you would ever need. But, how does it cook? EXCELLENT! With the four temperature probes you can cook multiple meats at the same time and the temperatures seem very accurate. Having so much flexibility to the amount (and blend) of smoke allows you to dial in the perfect smokiness. You get a good bark and although some people have commented about hot spots I found that all the meat cooked very evenly across the rack. For smoking I use the upper rack but I have cooked burgers on the bottom rack for a good char. I even took a store bought flat bread pizza and got a fine crisp crust and smoky flavor very quickly. Cleanup is super easy with the ash cup that can be removed and replaced in seconds. Anyway, I rarely do any reviews on the products I purchase but I enjoy this smoker so much that I had to spread the word. I'm no pit master, to be sure, just a joe schmo that wants to occasionally (and without hassle) get some smoky meat. Surely to get competition quality results you need a full on offset smoker. BUT, this Camp Chef smoker, of all pellet smokers, is going to get you closer than any other IMHO. Smoke on! ... show more

    • First pellet grill / smoker, and it's fantastic!
I have had this grill for about two months. I have cooked hamburgers, brisket, chicken, and ribs. The smoke flavor proliferates through this food - the smoker box is a very nice addition to the cooking experience. I have used both the Camp Chef and Pit Boss pellets in different varieties (mesquite, cherry, oak, apple) and various hardwoods (again, cherry, apple, mesquite, oak). The flavor is simply amazing. I also have the SideKick burner --- it gets extremely hot (if you need it) and does a good job in cooking 4-6 burgers, brats, or other grilled food. The WWPro is extremely easy to use and easy to clean. The WiFi and app has been effortless for me to use. I did have an issue with the Sidekick bracket rivets coming loose, and the finish wasn't the best. The Camp Chef customer service actually sent me a brand new SideKick, so that was a very nice response. The smoke box is really fun to use - fill it with your favorite hardwood, get it started with a propane torch, then refill the box every 45 minutes or so. You can tell when to add more wood - you'll see less smoke coming out of the grill itself. ... show more

    • Awesome pellet grill/smoker!!
Set-up was easy with the video and a neighbor to help -- everything was fine as long as we followed the instructions. We started late and it was dark when we finished, so I didn't try the initial burn until the next morning. Well, that didn't work at all... called their tech support and had a great experience. The young lady on the phone talked me through several trouble shooting scenarios - turned out that the auger motor was bad. They shipped me a new one over night!! Once installed the next afternoon it worked like a champ. I've had several great smokes - chickens - two turkeys at the same time - pork butts - prime rib - beef ribs - all have turned out great. I love the ease of use. The app on my phone lets me monitor the process - and the variety of alarms and notifications are easily enough to keep any smoke on track. Works great!! ... show more

    • defective grill
grill would not run, after many days of frustration, spoke with rep. for camp chef and was informed the problem could be a couple of parts that they wanted to send to me . They wanted me to repair a new grill in the hopes that it might work. I am returning it.

Came quickly and in good condition. I ordered my last Camp Chef direct and this one from Amazon and did not notice any difference between. The Woodwind Pro is a step above the rest for anyone looking for ease of use and maximum smoke flavor. Pull the trigger.

    • The Grill of a Lifetime!
This is our second Camp Chef grill, and so far, we're very pleased with it. The new smoker box feature is a huge plus, as is the wi-fi connectivity. Our grill arrived with a nonworking igniter, but Camp Chef's Customer Service staff was quick to help us diagnose the problem and ship a replacement part. Just a note: the grill isn't a piece of cake to assemble, but the instructions are clear and fairly easy to follow. More importantly, There weren't any components missing, as so often happens with DYI products. ... show more

    • Hassle free lighting and operation
My first pellet stove and no regrets. Starts on command and keeps a reasonably stable temperature. I've always used the smoker box so I don't know how much that adds but the smoke flavor is definitely in the foodeven for short burns like hamburgers.
